I think AI is a tool that will add value when operated in a truly decentralized fashion (ie the compute level) by individuals and companies. Running AI in this way will not allow its significant costs to be hidden by VC slush or subsidized by public funds, so it will be used only where is actually does add real value - in fact the realization of underlying costs will cause the market to actually seek out where AI add value rather and stuffing it into everything and then loudly claiming “humans are obsolete” because you need the next 100 Billion of other people’s money to keep the show going. There is very real and accelerating war to 1) poison the internet with EVEN MORE post-truth garbage and 2) put internet services behind biometric permissioning. It is no coincidence that these are ramping as things like unrealized capital gains are starting to be passed and information is being directly and brazenly restricted. Reject all of this. Nostr’s present problems are more than worth enduring to limit one’s exposure to the above dynamics. What content are we “missing” here? Is it IGs lust and envy rot designed to destroy your relationships, make you hate your body no matter what, and make you jealous of your friends? Is it Twitter’s hate-politics or esoteric doomer content (Have you submitted to die in the “geo-physical event” Anon? There is nothing you can do but the rich are building bunkers, in case you care!)? Is it TikTok’s destruction of attention, critical thinking, logic? And it if it’s because “none of your friends are here and they’re all in those other places” what does that say about the digital headspace your friends inhabit?
