👨‍🏫 First Lesson Dedicated to Bitcoin On May 18, 2012, the first lesson dedicated to Bitcoin was held in a US elementary school. The teacher was pleasantly surprised by the many valid and often unexpected questions. Children are indeed inclined to approach new topics openly and not prematurely dismiss the information received. Don't let knowledge gained from traditional, state-funded media stop you from studying #Bitcoin as a solution to problems caused by that very state elite! image

Excited to announce that Bitcoin Calendar project now runs its own Haven Relay and Blossom Server. This is a huge step towards the project's sovereignty! Now Bitcoin Calendar depends even less on third party services, while benefitting from the features built into Haven stack – such as Blastr – and offered by other Nostr tools, such as Primal's Media Mirrors. Thank you to those who supported the project so far and please consider supporting and sharing if you haven't yet 🙏 All project info can be found at Huge shoutout and eternal gratitude to @utxo the webmaster 🧑‍💻 for Haven 💜 See the first media hosted by Bitcoin Calendar below 👇 image

🪙 First Physical Bitcoins On May 9, 2011, the first physical incarnation of #bitcoins, known as Bitbills, were introduced. Bitbills were plastic cards that held the cryptographic key that would allow the face value amount of the card to be spent. The key was on a QR code embedded within the card such that it could not be read without the card showing evidence of tampering. Additionally, the card had a hologram affixed to ensure that the card was not a counterfeit. image https://web.archive.org/web/20110925100346/http://bitbills.com/order  ℹ️
