๐ŸŽ‰ Birthday of Ludwig von Mises On September 29, 1881, Ludwig von Mises was born, who made a significant contribution to the development of the Austrian School of Economics and became one of the founders of the philosophy of libertarianism. We suggest celebrating the birthday of the outstanding economist, philosopher, sociologist, and praxeologist by familiarizing yourself with a brief summary of his lectures, known today as "Mises' Six Lessons." image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/1881-09-29/birthday-of-ludwig-von-mises

๐Ÿ‚ GNU Announced On September 27, 1983, Richard Stallman announced the GNU Project โ€“ his plan to create a complete, free Unix-compatible operating system. GNU provided the essential tools, libraries, and the legal/ethical framework (via the Free Software Foundation and copyleft) that, paired with the Linux kernel, became the GNU/Linux systems used around the world. Its insistence on the four software freedoms (run, study, modify, share) helped create and define todayโ€™s FOSS movement. "I consider that the golden rule requires that if I like a program I must share it with other people who like it. I cannot in good conscience sign a nondisclosure agreement or a software license agreement." image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/1983-09-27/gnu-announced

๐Ÿ“š Bitcoin Universe On September 26, 2021, Robert Breedlove published a tweetstorm "Bitcoin Universe". In this tweetsorm Breedlove asserts that Bitcoin is the "hardest" money in history due to its fixed supply and high stock-to-flow ratio, a quality that he argues will inevitably lead it to outcompete gold and government-issued fiat currency, the "softest" money in history. image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/2012-09-26/bitcoin-universe

๐Ÿ“š Bitcoin = Freedom On September 25, 2019, Ross Ulbricht wrote his essay "Bitcoin = Freedom" from behind the walls of a correctional facility in Tucson, Arizona. In his essay, Ross argues that Bitcoin is more than just money; it is a tool for freedom and a response to the problems of centralized authority. He discusses how Bitcoin's value came from the belief of its early adopters, and how its decentralized nature allows for peer-to-peer transactions without the need for banks or governments. image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/2019-09-25/bitcoin-freedom

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป BEPs โ€“ Bitcoin Enhancement Proposals On September 19, 2011, genix proposed standardizing the protocol improvement process. Genix adapted PEP 0001 of the Python programming language to Bitcoin, suggesting the name BEP โ€“ "Bitcoin Enhancement Proposal". Later, during correspondence in the bitcoin developers mailing list, Gavin Andresen proposed changing the abbreviation to BIP โ€“ "Bitcoin Improvement Proposal". The reason was that the abbreviation BEP was already used by the BitTorrent protocol โ€“ "BitTorrent Enhancement Proposal". image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/2011-09-19/beps-bitcoin-enhancement-proposals
