When we first started the Block Party, it was just by selling hashrate. We also did hashrate auctions, which were wild. Then, plebs asked if they could bring their solo miners to the party.
So we added that!
If you have a Bitaxe or any other mining rig, send your hash:
Stratum address:
http://solo.ckpool.org:3333
Username: 3Gk1GfP3bHA6M2ZzK5mHdqbWN1iNsqAenH.mybtcaddress
*Important: Replace "mybtcaddress" with your BTC payout address
During the blockparty, you get your share of the reward based on hashrate contribution.
Pre-game mining is what happens *between* parties.
Outside of the party, the miner who finds the block gets 1 BTC and everyone else gets a share of the reward based on hashrate contribution.
⭐️ With Block Party #28, the one where we mined block #955,703, we noticed we had 4 (likely older) Bitaxes or other solo machines that were hashin' less than 1.2 TH/s. Those Bitaxes received 0 due to dust limits.
If that is YOU, you may want to also purchase hashrate to ensure you receive a block reward share the next time we hit a block.
Why?
The way Block Party 29 is looking, whales have bought in. Whale buys mean small block reward shares for the folks who buy small quantities of hashrate.
When we hit a block, the reward shares are divided up based on hashrate contributed. Whales get a bigger share of the reward.
(Hey, some folks don't care and just want bragging rights that they were part of hitting a block. But for the rest who want to take home a reward, we thought we'd put it out there).
For the rest of this week, we'll be doing a sort of "Summer Camp Orientation" or Rigly 101 for folks who just found out about the Block Party because we hit block 944,703 on Saturday.
So keep the questions coming!
