Quick question. I have been pronouncing #Nostr like this: ‘noss-ter’. I recently noticed a lot of people say ‘know-ster’. Is this just a regional thing or is that correct? I’ve also heard it as ‘naw-ster’ so maybe we can say it however we want. Maybe that’s the point. #asknostr

Anyone out there using #StartOS for their #bitcoin node? I’ve nearly finished syncing the chain and was wondering if anyone had tips for services I should use. I went for a less user-friendly approach last time I set up a node and it didn’t go so well for me. That’s why I thought I’d give Start9 a try. GM! I've been thinking about the bot issue. It only takes one follower in your WoT who follows a bot (and probably doesn’t realise it) to ruin it. Asking for proof of life when you follow someone is impractical to say the least. I guess the main way to identify a bot is through their actions — spamming accounts or the same account (aka ReplyGuy). So what if there was an option for auto-unfollowing an npub if they sent the same message to more than [n] accounts or [n] times to the same account? Maybe an option to choose how much of the spam message needs to be identical to qualify. I realise this doesn’t stop bots who generate random gibberish notes to each spamee (if that’s a word) but it could make a difference. It could also remove a bunch of follows if the tolerance is set too low so maybe a warning would be good if it went below a certain level. I’m just spitballing. GM! I’ve been pondering what would happen if #bitcoin one day hit a price of >USD10M per coin. Once it gets past this point there would be fewer #sats per dollar than cents. My understanding is that sats are the smallest unit on-chain but if we got to this point I’m sure a cent would be near worthless anyway. I’d also assume that most transactions would take place over #Lightning or equivalent. Anyway, my question is — does Lightning allow fractions of a Satoshi? I’m sure a quick search would tell me but I’ve written this now, so… #gm #asknostr #askbitcoin
