#Mistral #AI is no longer releasing open weights. They removed all "open" and "free" palaver from their website [1], while partnering with Microsoft. On one side, I'm happy there's more options than just OpenAI, and I'm happy this will increase competition and innovation in the space. But I'm sad to see that Mistral has abandoned their origins of magnet link releases of open weights with no explanation nor announcements. I think it would be compatible to do both. #Nitter, the alternative Twitter front-end, appears to be non-functional due to changes from Twitter itself. Since most content is there, it was a viable private way to consume some interesting accounts with privacy. From now on, I will be exclusively consuming content from #Nostr and Mastodon.
