Is your goal maximum growth or minimum irreversible loss?
Unpopular opinion: Bitcoin is better off as a store of value and not a medium of exchange (MOE)
Now that NGU again the time comes once more for a good discussion.
On the flip side it is likely that Bitcoin does fail if it doesn’t reach MOE level.

Ask yourself this question of your surplus income: Of the portion you intend to keep for years, how much do you deliberately remove from the paper/credit system?
Money is our shard, primeval ability to associate relative values of barterable goods and services.
Capital is not just things. It is human understanding made durable enough to shape the future.
The intelligence of an organization is different entirely from the intelligence of its members.
Governments most basic mandate is to provide the infrastructure and secure environment that enables people to produce capital.
Wealths proper measure is whether it supports a coherent life, reduces unnecessary coercion, and leaves rooms for generative activity and orientation toward the absolute.

For those unfamiliar with how institutional investing works.
Institutions underwrite bitcoins actual network operation, scarcity, and settlement.
On the flip side, retail underwrites narrative and participating in the movement that is bitcoin.
These are two different lenses. Does not make one right or wrong but you have to be able to understand and hold both perspectives. Social media whether it’s nostr or X is built around engagement not fundamentals. Just the reality.
I would venture to guess that the amount of bitcoin holders who actually post regularly is maybe 1-2%. And that’s probably generous. But the way social media works makes this small percentage feel like the total sentiment of the users. This is an illusion of urgency and threat. Yes these discussions matter but they are very niche to the greater ecosystem.
High friction is a necessary
Virtue, strength, judgement, and anti fragility do not develop in the absence of resistance.
Repair a tool
Grow food
Raise children
Practice a difficult craft
All of these things are high friction and will embed you in the living world rather than an optimized simulation of it.
A practical path: own some hard assets, some productive capacity, strong skills, and a lifestyle that does not require enormous stored surplus to sustain.
I find the retiring in bitcoin arguments and the hate on OGs for selling tiresome. There are many use cases for bitcoin that are excellent. If you need to move value across borders it is unmatched. VERY few people in actuality need to move enormous amounts of value this way. If you have 100 BTC that’s probably excessive to say the least for what bitcoin actually needs to provide for you in your life. This is just reality. The network can still exist without everyone hoarding every free cent in it. This is a fact.
Don’t fall for all of the narratives and infighting. Just do the work and know what you own and then if the properties still exist then go enjoy your life.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in it because fix the money fix the world. But we all know this isn’t a straight line and some trade offs will occur. Welcome to life.
