Kalevios Pontikos ☧ | Follower of Iēsous, son of the unknown Good Father. Citizen of His Kingdom. Student of early Christianity. Unashamed heretic.
What if the God who sent plagues on Egypt’s children isn’t the same as Jesus’ Father of total compassion? Early Christians believed exactly that—and it changes everything about evil, love, and the cross. Mind-blowing lost theology.
Did early Christians see YHWH (Yahweh) as distinct from Jesus' Heavenly Father—a God of total compassion untouched by evil?
Who I once was is no more, For Christ lives in me forevermore. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Apostolicon, cf. Gal 2:20)
YHWH the limited, ignorant Elohim vs. the omniscient Father revealed in Jesus. YHWH didn’t know where Adam was: “Adam, where are you?” (Gen 3:9). He has to ask: “Have you eaten from the tree?” — as if the answer isn’t obvious. Moments later He has to ask Cain: “Where is your brother Abel?” (Gen 4:9) — even though Abel’s blood is already crying out to Him from the ground (Gen 4:10). Christ, by contrast, knows men’s thoughts before they speak (Luke 6:8).
If you're wondering why you seem to have a higher moral code than YHWH, you've figured out why he isn't the true Father presented to us by Jesus.
“God” is not in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament); it is a deliberate translation choice to obscure the Elohim. There are many Elohim (Ps 82)
O foolish Galatians! Who hath bewitched you that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth, crucified among you? (Apostolicon, cf. Gal 3:1) Return to the pure Gospel of Christ crucified—let no one bewitch you away from the grace that saves.
YHWH’s fickle incompetence vs. the unchanging love of the true Father. YHWH anoints Saul king—then regrets it, saying, “I regret that I have made Saul king” (1 Sam 15:11). Grants Solomon wisdom—then rejects him for foreign wives. Threatens to destroy Nineveh—then relents when they repent (Jonah 3:10). Regrets creating mankind before the flood (Gen 6:6–7) and repeatedly grows angry with those He chose and blessed (Solomon, Israel over and over). Capricious, regretful, shortsighted. Christ’s Father never wavers, never regrets, never changes His mind.
Jesus wept. (Evangelion, cf. John 11:35) In the shortest verse, behold the deepest love: the Saviour weeping for His own.

"The god having been proclaimed by the Law and Prophets is not the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the one is known, the other is unknown; the one is just, but the other is good." - Cerdo (or Cerdon), a 2nd-century teacher Jesus was crystal clear that no one knew His Father before Him, and only through Him do you know the Father. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”- Jn 14:6–7image
The deity of the Hebrew Bible (Yahweh) is inconsistent with the Father (God) revealed through Jesus. Yahweh is jealous, wrathful, and incompatible with Jesus' teachings.image
YHWH/YHVH (Yahweh/Yehovah) said he has blinded humanity (Is 6:9-10), and therefore, is the ‘god of this age/world’ (2 Cor 4:4) and the ‘prince of the power of the air.’ (Eph 2:2). Listen to Jesus (Iēsous) when he told the Pharisees that their Father was the devil (Jn 8:44).
I find it somewhat amusing when I'm called a blasphemer when proclaiming that what Jesus said. You know Jesus was a proclaimed 'blasphemer' too, right? So, I think I'm in good company.
The latest Episode of #TheWhyFiles around Synchronicities is very curious; just this week such things happened to me. I have been thinking about trying to acquire a copy of a rare DVD... today my wife brought it home from a thrift store unbeknownst of my desire to find it.
