Kalevios Pontikos ☧ | Follower of Iēsous, son of the unknown Good Father. Citizen of His Kingdom. Student of early Christianity. Unashamed heretic.
Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? (Evangelion, cf. Luke 6:46) Let our actions match our words today—true discipleship is not in words alone, but in obedient faith.
In the first gospel (Evangelion), two seekers ask about “life”—and receive two different answers: - One asks about ζωή (earthly life/abundance). Jesus replies: “Love God and neighbour… do this and you will live” (cf. Luke 10:25–28). (Exactly the earthly riches YHWH promises in the Law for obedience.) - The other asks about ζωὴν αἰώνιον (eternal life). Jesus replies: “Sell everything, give to the poor… and you will have treasure in heaven” (cf. Luke 18:18–30). Different Greek words → perfectly coherent answers. Canonical Luke erases the distinction and creates a contradiction. The Evangelion preserves the original, sharper theology.
So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Is there any father among you whose son asks for a fish, and instead of a fish he gives him a snake? (Evangelion, cf. Luke 11:9, 11) I know a Father who would do such a thing: The Israelites turned back and wept, saying, “Who will give us meat? We remember the fish we ate in Egypt for nothing…” (Num 11:4–5) “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no food and no water…” And Yahweh sent poisonous snakes among the people; they bit the people, and many Israelites died. (Num 21:5–6) YHWH is the Father/God of Israel, and Israel is always called YHWH’s son. YHWH is clearly the father Jesus was referring to: his son, Israel, asked [begged] for fish [food] and instead was sent serpents [from their Father, YHWH] to kill them in return.
YHWH commands David to kill the blind and lame (2 Sam 5:6-8), and shuts ears: "Hear but do not understand" (Isa 6:9-10). Jesus opens blind eyes: "Your faith has made you see" (Evangelion; cf. Luke 18:42) and invites: "He who has ears, let him hear" (Evangelion; cf. Luke 8:8). YHWH impairs senses; the Father restores and awakens them.
YHWH sends bears to maul 42 children for mocking Elisha's baldness (2 Kgdms 2:23–24). Jesus welcomes children: "Let the little children come to me, for of such is the kingdom of God" (Evangelion cf. Luke 18:16). YHWH unleashes savage punishment on children; the Father blesses and protects them.
YHWH commands the Israelites to make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land, but to break down their altars and utterly destroy them (Exod 23:32–33; Deut 7:2–5). 🤔
Your daily reminder of YHWH's genocidal fury vs. the Father's compassionate love; YHWH commands the total destruction of Canaanite cities, slaughtering all inhabitants (Deut 7:2; Josh 6:21). In the Evangelion, Christ teaches: “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you” (Evangelion; cf. Luke 6:27).

"The god having been proclaimed by the Law and Prophets is not the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the one is known, the other is unknown; the one is just, but the other is good." - Cerdo (or Cerdon), a 2nd-century teacher Jesus was crystal clear that no one knew His Father before Him, and only through Him do you know the Father. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”- Jn 14:6–7image
The deity of the Hebrew Bible (Yahweh) is inconsistent with the Father (God) revealed through Jesus. Yahweh is jealous, wrathful, and incompatible with Jesus' teachings.image
YHWH/YHVH (Yahweh/Yehovah) said he has blinded humanity (Is 6:9-10), and therefore, is the ‘god of this age/world’ (2 Cor 4:4) and the ‘prince of the power of the air.’ (Eph 2:2). Listen to Jesus (Iēsous) when he told the Pharisees that their Father was the devil (Jn 8:44).
I find it somewhat amusing when I'm called a blasphemer when proclaiming that what Jesus said. You know Jesus was a proclaimed 'blasphemer' too, right? So, I think I'm in good company.
The latest Episode of #TheWhyFiles around Synchronicities is very curious; just this week such things happened to me. I have been thinking about trying to acquire a copy of a rare DVD... today my wife brought it home from a thrift store unbeknownst of my desire to find it.
YHWH commands to despoil the Egyptians while Christ exhorted voluntary poverty: "And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go, you shall not go empty, but each woman shall ask of her neighbor, and any woman who lives in her house, for silver and gold jewelry, and for clothing. You shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.” - Ex 3:21–22. The people of Israel had also done as Moses told them, for they had asked the Egyptians for silver and gold jewelry and for clothing. And YHWH had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. - Ex 12:35–36 vs Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” - Mt 19:21 "Sell your possessions, and give to the needy." - Lk 12:33 "...sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me" - Mk 10:21
We are to be more like Jesus. We are NOT to be like YHWH. The two are not the same; YHWH is a man of war; YHWH is his name. - Ex 15:3 "you shall worship no other god, for YHWH, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God" - Ex 34:14 "For YHWH your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. - Dt 4:24 “Thus says YHWH of hosts [war]: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath. Thus says YHWH" - Zec 8:2–3 vs "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil." - Lk 6:35 Does that description match YHWH?
Was Jesus cursed, and by whom? Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” - Ga 3:13 “... a hanged man is cursed by God [Elohim]... YHWH your God [Elohim]..." - Dt 21:23
