Inflation is an expansion of the money supply. Rising prices are merely a symptom of inflation.
Broken money was an engineering problem. Money needs to be Durable, Portable, Divisible, Fungible, Scarce, and Recognizable. Gold met these parameters better than anything else we could find in the natural world. Then Satoshi coded money that meets these parameters perfectly.
