Namaste! Tuesday assorted links: Can a chrome extension host a terminal emulator? - Pomdtr's blog 🔗 --- Google Logo Ligature Bug Jeffrey Yasskin recently pointed out an interesting security bug: The idea is, if you had registered googlelogoligature.net then Chrome on Android (and possibly other Google products) would have displayed it as Google.net, potentially tricking users into thinking they were really interacting with Google. To see how this worked, you can try searching Google for [\googlelogoligature\] 🔗 --- artnitolog/awesome-arxiv Curated resources for discovering, reading, and working with arXiv papers 🔗

Dobrý ráno! Friday assorted links: Ports that are blocked by browsers – Keenformatics – A (not so) tedious blog about informatics. Turns out that some ports are explicitly blocked by browsers. This is done in response to the so-called Cross-protocol scripting vulnerability (VU#476267). Through this vulnerability, an attacker could forge malicious HTML code to send data to other services used by the victim (for example crafting spam emails, or printing through a network printer). IMAP, SMTP, NNTP and POP3 are just a small portion of the affected services. 🔗
