Nostr is like Discord, but free open source (FOSS).
Discord is important because it’s community centric communication and friends. Our society is defined by our communities. But Discord is centralized and vulnerable to capture and censorship.
As the Nostr “community model” use case develops I think we’ll see the global default channel (scope) abandoned - the volume will make it only useful for data mining.
Relays will pick and choose the communities they support from other relays. And most likely the community will have to pay to use if volume is above the watermark.
Hopefully the community owner gets to set the revenue share models for relays, as large communities will need to pay for service.
Decentralizing communications is our first step to resist the centralized (homogenized) society and group think. Fight the 51% attack on culture.
To be free we will need all our technologies to support a sovereign group of 1 person.
