Some may use the term “altered states” while some may say “non ordinary” when discussing the perceptual changes experienced under the influence of a psychedelic substance. When in such states, a large majority of people tend to report deep meaning attached to their journeys with a shift in perspective. Psychedelics have the power to soften our belief systems by reducing the intensity of our inner narratives in which our beliefs about the world operate. In return, this “belief relaxation” provides the space for new information to come in and grants our minds access to differing perspectives. There’s unlimited possibilities going from here! Hello magical human beings! ✨ I’m a Clinical Psychology doctoral candidate with a deep existential curiosity. I believe that studying consciousness is one way to better understand the sheer magnitude and nature of the Universe by looking at one complex piece of it. To embrace and feed this curiosity came the realm of psychedelics (it’s quite miraculous that our neural makeup can dance with plant medicine to shift our perceptual experience).
