Vocabulary of Water
Water serves as both subject and collaborator in this ongoing exploration of abstraction. Rather than documenting a landscape, these photographs investigate the visual vocabulary created by reflection, light, and movement. As recognizable forms dissolve into line, gesture, and structure, the surface of the water becomes a place where representation gives way to pattern and perception.
l. Line
Using the surface of the water as a starting point, this series reduces reflection and movement into geometric compositions. By emphasizing repetition and lines, the images invite viewers to move beyond recognizing water as a subject and instead experience it as shape, rhythm, and form.
2. Gesture
Here is the quieter, more fluid patterns that emerge across the water's surface. Curving lines and looping forms drift across the frame, creating abstract compositions that suggest movement without depicting a specific moment or event.
