As a small business owner in a relatively heavily-regulated industry, my experience with regulation has been that the department / agency just wants to lay low and collect rents and not do any 'sincere', hard word to punish bad actors. Regulation sounds sexy to many of my liberal friends but in practice it's almost always a net negative in my anecdotal corner of the economy.

I have a friend on the radical left ( like the actual radical left, not woke media far left) that i meet to have a beer with every so often. I came to a realization. I consider myself a capitalism maxi, i believe the state is the problem first and foremost. He is a socialism maxi, believes multinational corporations are the problem first and foremost. We basically agree on everything else or are able to have reasonable conversations where we disagree. Thought i would share as this community might find that interesting, that is all 🤙
