Here's fun and practical shotgun drill for you, the Alaska bear qualifier. It's used by corporations and state government agencies to allow employees to carry a shotgun for self defense while on the job. Set up standard charging bear targets at 15 yards, 12 yards and 10 yards. They are 23" X 35" with a 9" circle centered on the nose. Load 4 slugs in your shotgun and one in the your pocket. Start from low ready Put two rounds on the far target, two on the middle target, reload, put one on the nearest target. Maximum time allowed is 40 seconds. All shots must be inside the 9" circle. I am running pretty consistent 17 second times with full power loads (1-3/8 oz, 1650 fps) and a little better with low recoil loads. My goal is to get down to 12 seconds. #gunstr #alaska
