The ability for us and the future generations to run full nodes and have pride in running them is paramount. If this potocol is not ran by pleb nodes who enforce the rules, it is doomed and will become less decentralized over time. He cares more about bitcoin price and his fiat paper markets more than the longevity of the bitcoin protocol. The spam needs to be curtailed for the heath of this network long term and he is uncomfortable with the short term price movement of disagreements in bitcoin.
