So now we have out there in plain sight. If you want those fat government contracts, you have to do the government’s wet work. Google is now happily an overzealous arm of the FATF. View quoted note →

This interviewer couldn’t be more obtuse, even rolling out the ol’ “if I haven’t got anything to hide…” trope. A transparently agenda-laden hit job on Meredith Whittaker, Signal and privacy tech generally, which she dealt with with tact and grace.

This the full text of SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce's speech this week at the Science of Blockchain Conference on the importance of preserving individuals' access to disintermediating technologies such as E2EE (and by implication, bitcoin - money is speech after all). Well worth a read if only to get an understanding of the senior US securities regulator's refreshing view on the 4th Amendment.
Love that she quotes Eric Hughes' statement in the Cypherpunk's Manifesto about not expecting governments, corporations, or other large, faceless organizations to grant us privacy. He goes on to write, importantly, that "*We* must defend our own privacy if we expect to have any." I don't think most people realise this - self-help is key, here.
If you want financial privacy, the tools already exist for you achieve it. Use them.

“Silence in politics is really important now because if you don’t, you’re going to be exposed by the full weight of the opposition on social media,” he said. “It’ll be carnage. She’s a bombshell, but she’s not box office yet.”
In other words, if you're white and vote conservative you'd better shut up or we are going to absolutely destroy you.
There you have it, folks - the left and left-leaning media letting us know in no uncertain terms what a bunch of goons they are. Stupid, too - haven't they ever heard of the Barbra Streisand Effect?

Reason #94 why fiat and the nation state is ultimately doomed…
Going through immigration at a US airport recently, standing in line behind a fairly prototypical white family returning from their vacation in the Cayman Islands. The officer asked each of the parents (paraphrasing here) “While in the Cayman Islands did you deposit or withdraw money from an offshore bank account or direct a third party to deposit or withdraw money from an offshore bank account?” They both answered no and were let through.
Me wandering through immediately after with 24 words rattling around in my head…
