There are watermarks on these photos. Do these bother anyone? The issue with watermarks is where do you stop? We want to make sure graffiti writers get respect but also that photographers get credit. ALSO, these photos we published do not clearly have writers/artists listed and these photos are more of archaelogy project. Curators Question: How do we improve the archive is the question? Should we not accept watermarks, or accept and then we can remove the watermarks with software. Also, right now we rely upon people, dominantly writers with memory are on Instagram right now and NOT hanging out on graffiti.org or emailing us. Another approach would be to use Ai technology to help understand what is in photos of graffiti, and who possibly is listed. Any feedback here? Throwback to the late 90s Italian graffiti scene! 🇮🇹🎨 Checking out this archive of "HEAT" from Italy (circa 1997–1999). It’s amazing to see how these styles helped shape the movement. HEAT: The namesake of the crew. AXE: Featured in several pieces (e.g., "Axe and Heat in Milan"). ONIK: Collaborated on multiple walls (e.g., "Onik, Axe, Heat, and Gore"). GORE: (Part of the FX Crew). ONES: Collaborated on walls in Milan. KID: Featured in a 1997 production. Art Crimes continues to be the ultimate digital museum for preserving graffiti history that otherwise might have been lost forever. The "DTC" Masterpiece (Solo & Izm) This image is a quintessential example of the crew's collaborative style in the mid-90s. It features sharp, aggressive letterforms and a vibrant color palette that defined the St. Louis "Wildstyle" during that era. 2. Izm's Technical Burner Izm is widely considered one of the most technical writers in the crew. This piece showcases his ability to balance complex connections with a clean, readable flow, highlighting why DTC was so respected in the Midwest. 3. Surge's 3D Style This image stands out because of its use of depth and "3D" effects. It demonstrates the crew’s evolution from flat lettering to more architectural, structured pieces that pop off the wall. Note on the Crew: These images were taken between 1994 and 1997 in St. Louis, Missouri.
