Help Needed with Bitcoin Core Command-Line Tools Setup Namaste Y'all! I'm currently setting up Bitcoin Core on my Mac and need some help with getting the command-line tools (like bitcoin-cli) to work. Here’s the situation: I have Bitcoin Core installed, but I downloaded the GUI version from the official Bitcoin Core website. ( like i had a choice) When I open the Bitcoin-Qt app, I can use the graphical interface, but I can’t find bitcoin-cli to interact with the Bitcoin network through the command line. I found the Bitcoin-Qt.app in my Downloads folder, and I believe it's just the GUI version, not the full version with CLI tools. I tried checking in the Contents/MacOS/ directory inside the app, but I couldn’t find bitcoin-cli or bitcoind. Questions: How can I check if the command-line tools are included with my current installation? If they’re not included, what’s the best way to get bitcoin-cli and bitcoind working? Would you recommend reinstalling Bitcoin Core with the full version (which includes both GUI and CLI tools), or is there an easier way to install just the CLI tools? Setup: Bitcoin Core GUI is already installed in /Users/Downloads/Bitcoin-Qt.app Running pruned node for space efficiency. What I’ve Tried: I’ve already checked the app bundle for bitcoin-cli and bitcoind under Contents/MacOS, but no luck. Looking for an easy solution to get the CLI tools up and running without taking up too much disk space. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance I am trying to rune. a lightning node
so, One of Bitcoin’s weirdest engineering tricks! 🎩✨ Bitcoin did increase the block size with SegWit in 2017 but they can’t officially call it that because of backward compatibility with old nodes. 👉 It’s still called a "1 MB block" for old nodes. 👉 It actually stores up to ~4 MB of data. 👉 This works because Bitcoin Core changed how block space is "counted" (Weight Units instead of bytes).
Gm , please help , I am in a loop. If SegWit didn’t remove any data and signatures are still stored in the block, how does Bitcoin fit more transactions per block? Before SegWit, every byte was counted equally, but after SegWit, witness data (signatures) is counted at 1 WU per byte instead of 4 WU per byte. The block limit changed from 1 MB to 4,000,000 WU, allowing more transactions to fit. How did Bitcoin create more space? Thank you
How many books have been written about #bitcoin ? Any list to refer to ?
Hi, GM! I’m interested in running a relay for Nostr. I have basic technical knowledge and would greatly appreciate it if someone could share a step-by-step guide on how to set one up. Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards, Paco
Crazy World- This is a crazy world we live in. In my village, most people don’t even know that $70 billion was created in just four hours, and yet we talk about quantitative easing like it’s an abstract concept. My village, my city, my country all of us just got devalued, not by natural forces, but by people creating "wealth" through their presence, reach, and connections. If the Gutenberg Printing Press once spread the gospel of politics and religion, today it’s Twitter shaping narratives and power dynamics. Not through Instagram or Facebook, but by sharing on X. This transformation affects every country and every common person. Wealth is siphoned from the poor and the real value creators, only to be rerouted to the rich, who have access to technology and capitalize on it. Maybe we’re already living in Gotham City. But where is Batman now? I feel sick to my stomach thinking about this about the FOMO (fear of missing out) and the millions of people like me experiencing the same. Is this wealth we see moving around truly the product of collective human effort? Or is it created by the wealthy, who are always chasing the next big investment? Good Lord, where does this stop? This will be front-page news worldwide when he takes the oath of office. Just as we follow the S&P 500 as a benchmark for financial markets, humanity may soon be following a $100 billion meme coin as a symbol of speculative wealth. "Oblivion is bliss," they say. But I say, "Oblivious is poor." The divide between rich and poor has become the yardstick of life itself. This reality should be taught in schools how power, technology, and wealth work in tandem to shape our world. Only then can we prepare the next generation to question, innovate, and fight for a fairer system.
Why does a zap sent to a post reflect on one client and not on the other ?
Gm, how often do relays purge data ? How does the relay owner decides what data to keep for an indefinite period? What is the amount of storage required to run a relay ? How many relays are currently running? Thanks :)
Happy New Year to y'all and your wonderful family! 🎉 Wishing you all endless love, laughter, and blessings. 🙏🏼 Thank You for all the wishes. P.S. Writing this book has been a soul-filling journey, like therapy, but with a keyboard! Inshallah, it’ll be ready by May 2025 😅
gm Buddha said, “Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”
