I'm listening to some of this fork debate on X between the two sides and regardless of whether or not the fork is a good idea, the proponents of it are impressively unprepared to defend their positions.

I reminded my wife yesterday that most people have a below average IQ. Say what you want about it as a metric generally, but it's a good short cut and it helps you take inventory of the people you interact with--both in that it reduces the amount of time you waste on certain people but also increases your ability to empathize with people who have skulls full of raisonettes.
