An Open Letter from a Housewife
To Everyone Who Thinks Being a Housewife Is Easy,
I wake up before everyone else and often go to sleep after everyone has rested. My day doesn't start with a time card, and it doesn't end when the clock strikes five.
I am a housewife.
I cook meals, clean the house, wash clothes, organize schedules, take care of children, and make sure everyone in the family is comfortable and cared for. I am often the first person people call when they need help and the last person to think about her own needs.
Many people believe that because I stay at home, I don't work. But the truth is, my work never stops. There are no weekends, no holidays, and no paid leaves. My responsibilities continue every single day.
Sometimes my efforts go unnoticed. The clean house, the prepared meals, the folded laundry, and the little things that make a home run smoothly are often taken for granted. Yet if I stop doing them, everyone notices.
Being a housewife is not just about managing a home. It is about creating a safe place where love, comfort, and support can grow. It is about sacrificing time, energy, and sometimes personal dreams for the well-being of the people I love.
I am not asking for praise or recognition every day. I simply ask for understanding and respect. A housewife's contribution may not come with a salary, but its value is immeasurable.
To my fellow housewives, I want you to know that your work matters. Your sacrifices matter. You matter.
