One day we're going to wake up and you'll no longer be able to trade fiat paper for the hardest money to ever exist. You don't want to be bag holding fictional bank deposits when that day comes.

Why is Foundation Passport my new favorite hardware wallet?
Been testing it on and off for the last month. Using it through Sparrow and not their companion app is the way to go. QR scanning camera/screen are just super convenient which is something Coldcard simply doesn't have right now. The ability to ingest a multisig config file or PSBT via QR is awesome. One thing I ran into on my Linux laptop is the webcam is shit so it could never read even QRs on the larger Passport display. In that case, I switched to SD Card functionality (same as coldcard) and everything worked swimmingly. The ability to enter long/complicated passphrases is much much easier on the Passport keyboard than coldcard. And lastly, I find the "verify address" feature to be just killer. When you see a deposit address from Sparrow or whatever wallet software you're using, you can quickly scan it with your Passport and it confirms if it's a valid address for your single sig seed + current passphrase or for your multisig wallets configured on the device. This adds an additional nice cross-vendor safety check. In the end, I still respect Coldcard more at the ultimate level of technical leadership and thoughtfulness (time in the game and market share matters here, plus...NVK is a beast), but all the above mentioned usability improvements for Passport weigh heavily in my mind. Coldcard Q1 will likely win back top spot because they're integrating all of these features into that model + a full qwerty keyboard for passphrase entry.
Fun times to be a Bitcoiner! Love testing all the new gear.
