Public key cryptography is amazing and enables us to trustlessly verify the source of content. This, at a fundamental level solves AI generated junk polluting the internet; social issues with misinformation, political propaganda, and so on. The decisions and the responsibility are ours, and we can either trust or we can verify. Nostr is the antithesis to the dead internet; it is the alive, eccentric, free and decentralized internet that I grew up with and loved. One of the beautiful things about developing on Nostr is that you have an instant network effect, where you can start to see the data for yourself, view social graphs, verify content and build webs of trust around creators and put the power back into their hands.
