First impressions of "Wallet of Satoshi" are favorable. It is, of course, non-custodial, but it also Just Works™. For my use-case, that's enough. Swapping XMR to BTC and dropping it on-chain with WoS means sats are available right away, and from there fairly simple to mint Cashu via Ditto for use. So long as I only keep enough of a balance to suit my short term needs and extract any excess to my custodial wallets, I don't much care that WoS holds the keys to the petty cash.

So, I've decided to give Nostr a second shot via Ditto after all. This time I'm using Wallet Of Satoshi... I know, non-custodial, but fuck it, I don't have the patience for this shit anymore. I'm already running two Mitra servers, a PeerTube server, and a Monero node, I have neither the time, the patience, nor the resources to add a Lightning node on top of all that. To say nothing of all the channel maintenance shit. So the XMR goes to a swap which goes to the on-chain BTC wallet which turns into sats on Lightning which pays for Cashu. In which Treshtog the Orc gets teleported to Mournhold before he's ready, makes his theatrical debut, spends literally an hour in a pitched life-or-death battle with a theater critic, buys a loyal pack rat, and bribes a guard into allowing him to progress the main quest.

Another layer of difficulty now, I have a bunch of sats on an embedded node Zeus phone wallet... I /could/ use those to pay for a new AlbyHub channel, but every time I try to pay it times out. Based on network data, this might be because of a large number of zombie channels (48000+). But none of the steps in Zeus docs gets rid of them. Express Graph Sync is enabled, restarted multiple times, no dice. I should have just stayed with Alby custodial ffs -_-;

It's a little disheartening that after I take the plunge to try AlbyHub, spending 15k sats tp open a channel and move funds over to my self custody wallet, the channel force closes after 13 minutes and the funds are now locked for 2 weeks.... is this the future, guys?
