I'd love to work out the entropy of something like thisanfd work out how secure it is. I suppose if it's generating a melody instead of just random notes then that lowers the entropy so it would have to be higher. I just really love the idea of unlocking my computer with a midi keyboard. You could definitely do this with PAM authentication in Linux and probably MacOS too. Or if you found a way to encode text using music notes then you could create a password manager that takes your existing passwords and converts them accordingly to after you press the midi keys. So many ideas 😆

Last night I went to a local music gig that a friend invited me to. I didn't expect too much as it was a showcase from a small record label and most of these guys had never performed to a real audience before.
TLDR: there was such a variety and all of them were EXCEPTIONAL. It was so refreshing to see such talent in our local community and I feel lucky to have seen these guys before they get famous!
The first act stood up on stage, nervously holding her phone. Naturally I thought she was going to read the lyrics from her phone and my expectations were low; but that's not to say I wasn't interested. She begins talking and the music suddenly starts unexpectantly so she's forced to start the show.
JUST WOW!!! Her voice was angelic. Influenced from Amy Winehouse, Dijon and Adele, this girl is going far!! I believe her name is Adaọra, check out her debut EP "ID".
Adaọra was no exception though, the rest of the acts were also remarkable. A particularly notable voice was Jack Nash; a perfect blend of Thom Yorke and Kurt Cobain. Best yet he was selling cassette tapes instead of CDs!!
Teo Long is most certainly an honorable mention as well. They're a three part Jazz Funk band. Although I could only find one song released, it can't go unmentioned that the lead singer wrote a song about how his Italian Grandmother with dementia keeps stealing cars and going for joy rides, I can't quite remember the name of it but it is hilarious in addition to being very groovy. Their bassist, Buck, is on a WHOLEEEE other level too so definitely watch them live if you're lucky enough to get the chance.
Amazing job guys! I'm not sure my praise will do you as well on Nostr as it would on the mainstream platforms but you never know. Great job :D
@set:// 𓁣 🏴 probably I love your cover image so much! Is this actually a tattoo of yours? I have a list of things I want to incorporate into my tattoos and a shell forkbomb is one of them. I knew I couldn't have been the first person to think of getting that tattooed but I haven't seen anyone else do it before. So good to see. If this is yours do you have any other nerdy tattoos that you feel comfortable sharing? Of course I understand if you want to shield yourself from tattoo identification, mass surveillance is a bitch now days!!

I've setup a custom lightning network address and a Nostr verified address. It was so incredibly simple to do with Docker and took less than 2 minutes from start to finish. It's much prettier now!
If anyone wants a hand let me know :)
Absolutely loving Nostr! What a great protocol. I do find it slightly slow though as my client has to do a lot of work. Does anybody know of any self-hostable intermediaries which handle all connections with Nostr relays and send a much lighter digest to the client?
