Hello /n/Brasil I have recently become a member of this community, even though I am not Brazilian. I have been working as an anonymity consultant for nearly a decade, which means that I get paid to help people stay hidden. In one of my recent cases, a Brazilian man asked for my assistance in a activist project to conceal his fingerprints from the Brazilian government. ##### Talking about messaging people. Never ever rely on email. Use it read-only and for non-sensitive matters. Use multiple aliases for every service (you can self host addy.me to manage this, I also activate pgp encryption at Addy.me, so, only me can see the email content after Addy relay. Remember, the email header is "public") For instant messaging? You can find dozens of entitled "private chats". 80% is bs. Others are just honeypots. Few are reliable by design. SimpleX uses a reliable protocol. You should connect over Tor and [self-host your server](https://simplex.chat/docs/server.html) for your sovereignty. > You should know, everything you don't control, is not safe. To help mitigate cross-profile attack, always use anonymous profiles (feature inside SimpleX). This should improve substantially your communications, however that's not enough if govs and agencies still listen to you throug your phone, computer, can easily poison your network, and much more attacks. However, offline f2f communication stands to be the best method. But you should have some cautions too, we talk about it in future. Long story short. The best way to be anonymous is to don't use any kind of electronic device and live in the wild. But that's not you. You have family to protect, money to hide and people to talk, anonymously. Today, most of things track everybody. If you are reading this, maybe you are not paranoid, it's legitimate defense.
