The RuPaul film wasn’t so bad. It was bad don’t get me wrong, but I had a good time watching it. Sure, I could have read a book, but you could feel the enthusiasm and was successfully silly. I chortled a few times.

To me Solicitor General Sauer wants the Supreme Court to exercise democratic bypass. It’s not that his ideas don’t rest on settled debate, they are very unsettled. It may be worth the update to the constitution but that alone is what would have to happen to implement this Republican/Democratic vision of citizenship. This can’t be implemented by judicial fiat, but through strict construction.
