Thanks to the Running Bitcoin Challenge, January was my most active month last year, and I went on to run 2,785 km over the year. Getting start is easy; apparently, stopping is less so! Challenge yourself to run/walk at least 21km - one Hal Fin - between Jan 10 and Jan 31. All while raising funds in aid of the Hal Finney ALS Research Fun, @Fran Finney ‘s chosen charity! Visit www.runningbitcoin.us to get involved. #RunningBitcoinChallenge #HalFinney #ALS #MND #ALSNetwork View quoted note →

Running a cross country race is an exhilarating, yet humbling, experience. Here’s the start of an 8km event I ran this morning. It had everything: ankle thick mud, steep hills and woods. Man against man! Everyone competing for themselves and their respective teams. Can recommend!

This evening I onboarded some friends to Nostr and here’s my top level getting started ‘guide’. Please feel free to copy & paste it and add your own favourite client link and npubs. ***Start quote*** Here’s a link to a popular client: It works in a similar way to X - only much better 🙂 Everyone gets a Public Key, also called an npub. Mine is: npub1dwekunm9w9agazkwcq88ymxmj0j3qgxcu4mwfqnjqvyusa9cuxrs0wsqel Here’s a quick link to my account via the Primal client: There are loads of clients out there, Primal just happens to be the most polished atm IMHO. The npub for Bitcoin Runners is: npub1ylwh3snzv3hw9k3lum0kxx5h7v04xd76uqccnney8fmpqehluevqge7jxa primal.net/p/npub1ylwh3snzv3hw9k3lum0kxx5h7v04xd76uqccnney8fmpqehluevqge7jxa You also receive a Private Key, called an ‘nsec’, which must be kept confidential. It’s important to ensure your nsec remains private to secure your account. If you’re using a computer instead of the Primal app, browsers based on Google’s Chromium (like Chrome, Brave, or Edge) work best. To log in securely with a browser, it’s recommended to use an extension called nos2x. You can install it from the Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/nos2x/kpgefcfmnafjgpblomihpgmejjdanjjp Once installed, you can enter your nsec into the nos2x extension. From then on, any website compatible with the Nostr protocol will prompt you to authorise it through the extension to ‘log in’—eliminating the need to copy and paste your nsec into websites. This method is far more secure and helps prevent accidental exposure of your private key. See you on Nostr 😃 ***End quote***

@primal Love what you have created, but you urgently need a NSFW filter on your ‘firehose’ feed!
