My first day at work I was paid $2.50 an hour for 8 hours (which was pretty low even by 1980s standards.) At the end of the day I was handed this $20 bill which, though poor, I never spent and is now framed on my wall. Since 1980 its lost 50% of its purchasing power.

Thousands of acres of forest to roam in. Beautiful! Just keep to the trail or you could get lost. And carry bear spray. And if you come across a mountain lion make lots of noise. Oh, and carry a cell phone in case you twist an ankle and can’t get out. Maybe I’ll stay home.

I always enjoy falling asleep to the distance crash of waves at the beach, the cat purring on a chair and an in depth podcast about #bitcoin .

If you’re in one of the comfy salon’s on the upper decks of a metaphoric financial ocean liner you may not be paying much attention to the lifeboat that is #bitcoin . But if you’re one of the steerage passengers up to their ankles in sea water, you understand lifeboats.

Good morning. I’m beginning to think that maybe we are living in a simulation.

Simple living means fewer distractions. It isn’t about being a hermit, it’s about paying attention to which aspects of life add value and which don’t. Economics makes us move to places we don’t choose to take jobs we don’t like to pay for things we don’t need. But there’s an alternative that works by trading possessions and commitments for a simpler lifestyle where you have the basics covered and a greater sense of freedom.

Get out in the sun. I hear it’s good for you.
