“That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.”
Look at the shoes we're filling Look at the blood we′re spilling Look at the world we′re killing The way we've always done before Look in the doubt we′ve wallowed Look at the leaders we've followed Look at the lies we′ve swallowed And I don't wanna hear no more My hands are tied For all I′ve seen has changed my mind But still the wars go on as the years go by For the love of God and the human rights 'Cause all these dreams are swept aside By bloody hands of the hypnotized Who carry the cross of homicide And history bears the scars of our civil wars -GNR 1991
Tried to delete my last note. I made it before the video came out, and before it was announced Charlie had passed. Thats on me for posting rashly. All I intended with that rushed post is that he should've put his money where his mouth was, and had better security. Obviously I decry violence, and i wish the best for his family. I will hold off on posting the rest of my thoughts for the time being.
However you feel about democracy. Independently verifiable cryptographic voting systems wojld make it more efficient than it is right now. If it were more efficient, it would better represent the ideal of democracy. However you feel about surveillance technology, it is getting more efficient every day under democratic government. There are many times in my country where we didn't get to vote for increased surveillance, and we got it anyway. Im not saying we even need to build these voting systems. They may even exist already. Im saying, the non use of these types of systems will have to become increasingly deliberate to justify a surveillance state under current democratic voting mechanisms.
