Sometimes it feels like Nostr developers have a real hatred of ol fashioned REST API’s. Just an impression.

The people who abandon you when you’re in trouble, or experiencing humiliation are doing you a favor. Think on that.

Today I finished setting up my new dedicated server with Plesk, Softaculous, and got it set up to host PHP, Node, and .NET applications. I also began rebuilding my websites and blogs, unifying my online personas. What next?

I’m pretty convinced that if you own a computer or cell phone, your country’s government knows where you are to within a few meters at all times. I don’t think hardware or OS matters in that consideration.

I miss the days of little web hosting companies where you often got to know the people running the host. Everything was LAMP back then, phpBB was king, and small communities were legion. Gets me in the feels.

Step one complete: setting up my own domain name server. Soon nothing I run will be behind Cloudflare.

Just once, I’d like to not feel completely out of place in this world.

I’d rather give respect too easily and be wrong from time to time, than to be too stingy and be wrong once.
