Hey! I’m about ready to try experimenting with livestreaming some hardware-based electronic music jams. I poked around nostrnests a little bit, but pretty sure I was playing to an empty room, and not 100% certain I’ve got my audio worked out. Streaming video+audio would be better from a proof-of-work standpoint (watch me push buttons and tweak knobs in real-time), so maybe that’s a keet thing? I would love to get the kinks worked out and just have a set schedule to sit down and JAM, ya know? Having an audience (even a small or potential one) makes a difference, for sure. ;) Anyone interested in performing or watching jams? (especially while troubleshooting/setting up, my availability is subject to vicissitudes of life)

TL, DR; I am broke AF. need a little bit of liquidity until the next paycheck comes in from the fiat mine. I propose an experiment: needs a snappy name which I don’t have right now, so I’m just going to call it “nostriches paying it forward” I’m going to post an invoice for a small amount, just in the hopes that some generous pleb feels like paying it. Also, I will graciously accept any zaps lol. What I propose to do (open to suggestions on how to properly accomplish this) is, when I am able: 1) combine the amount of the invoice plus zaps 2) send AT LEAST THAT MUCH 3) a publicly verifiable way 4) to another pleb that needs help, and/or nostr devs, and/or some other cause that can be more or less universally agreed on by the community at large. Nope, I don’t have anything to collateralize beyond my negligible reputation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ********** Sob story (abridged): Bitcoin has helped me tremendously lower my time preference and give me REALISTIC hope for an optimistic future. Both for myself and immediate family, as well as humanity at large. Unfortunately, I am late to the game. Like many, what REALLY got me to take more than a passing glance at bitcoin was NGU technology. I got in during 2021, rapid orange pill thanks to many. Shitcoin phase worked out fast, worked out early. Proud BITCOIN ONLY. But first, rewind: April 2018 My wife and I are both able-bodied adults working full-time jobs, taking care of some cats. Pretty firmly in the lower middle class, living comfortably, not spending very lavishly, but also not saving a fucking thing. September 2019: We are now raising three children. They arrived one at a time under varied circumstances. It is a long and complicated story involving lawyers and CPS. My biological nephew and nieces, they now call us mama and daddy. November 2019: My wife has a stroke, at age 36. Her mind seems to be mostly unaffected, but she has some permanent paralysis and mobility issues. So before we could even feel like we had a grip on raising THREE children, the ground dropped beneath our feet. One additional human that needs regular help, and fewer hands to do it. And this is all before the year 2020. We were fortunately not DIRECTLY affected by Covid during the worst of it. But take all of the above and throw a pandemic on top of it… Yeah, it was a bit much. We had hoped for my wife to go back to work eventually, but it eventually became clear that that was not feasible. She actually got FIRED from her job, right as lockdowns etc. started to happen, and the unemployment system was overwhelmed. We literally could not reach a human being that could help us. Between the novelty of our custody situation (which we had court orders for) and obstinance from birth mother, we didn’t get most of the government assistance we might have otherwise received, and/or it was greatly delayed. This includes all tax/stimulus situations. With a lot of help from a lot of friends, and a few strangers, we managed to slog it out. But I finally hit a breaking point in January of this year. A bit OVER-determined, in that I had been in a more or less constant state of survival/emergency/panic mode for over three years solid. We lost an entire income stream (my wife’s job), gained a whole lot of responsibilities (three kids plus a legal fight), and then my own income also went down along with the overall economy during the Covid lockdowns. Fortunate to not die: yes! Was it ever easy? No. Our home life has stabilized, we’re falling back into a regular rhythm, business is picking up, things are looking good. At least, we seem like we can maybe START to move in the right direction. We have debts, deferred maintenance, lots of messes, literal and metaphorical. I’ve been treading water for a long time, about to drown from exhaustion and starvation. But holy shit it’s cool to see yall building!!!
