Crazy that Tubi is getting the Scooby Doo anime instead of it airing on Cartoon Network. I feel like Scooby Doo is one of those franchises that should still be on TV instead of being relegated to only streaming. I guess that the heads of warner animation are just spinning wheels until the merger gets approved. Which is sad because thanks to Regular Show the Lost Tapes I've been getting into the groove of watching cable again. On the positive I do like the premise of Shaggy and Scooby Doo going to Japan and going on adventures with Scooby's Uncle Daisuke Doo. Plus the designs by OLM look really good! #Animestr

I think this summer I'm going to use my Vita as a camera. I'm pretty sure I could get some interesting shots with it.

I was surprised to find out that Goetia Shock was licensed in English. I never would have expected it to get an official translation, since its plot is similar to that of a cyberpunk porn novel. This is especially surprising since a manga adaptation is already available, and companies usually prefer the manga version of an ecchi-heavy light novel. Now, I wonder what version we are going to get: censored or uncensored? Will they go the extra mile and include the short stories and extra images for the first story? Being digital only is a slight problem, but I would prefer it if a company did licensed physical editions that bounds the full case in one like Japan does when releasing the uncensored version.

The new Xperia looks good! Wonder if this is going to be sold in the US?

Regular Show: The Lost Tapes is peak. Feels just like the original show. It feels just in tune with the series that the afterlife is just as crazy as the living world. Now the final episode of the season being called the Ultimate Format Wars makes sense. It's Streaming vs VHS part 2 RegularShowTLT

I checked out the English dub of Needy Girl Overdose. It's a pretty good dub, but what's surprising is Kangel sounds the same in both languages. I tried American Strong Zero. I can see its appeal. The flavor is much more pronounced than that of our hard seltzers, where the flavor feels like backwash. It's probably a good thing this is only 6%. I wish there were a lime flavor; I think it would really complement this. However, I saw on the website that they offer mixed flavors, so I'll try that next time! #Drinkstr

After all this time Black Clover has come to an end. It's bittersweet, but I'm really glad at where it ended. With the series we've come to expect big fights to be around three to five chapters, so to have the fight to decide the Wizard King be only two is disappointing. Really feels like there should have been an extra chapter of Saint Mode vs Black Guardian. The epilogue is a nice cherry on top of a pretty good final arc. I was never a fan of the big twist leading up to it, and near the end it did get a bit shaky with one batch of chapters. All in all, it was a great read and a solid ending. Getting to see all the characters I liked get to have a happy ending did put a smile on my face. Even getting a crackpot theory confirmed at the end. (The final shinning general being related to the Diamond King) Even though it's the end, luckily I have the guidebook to look forward to in August. Hope Tabata fills in or answers some questions about what happened with Diamond during everything. Also, gotta have an Asta family photo with his wife and future kid. It's been a great 10 years reading the series, and I'm glad Yuki Tabata was able to stick the landing. Can't wait for his next series if he ever decides to make one. ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ #Mangastr

Just finished watching episode 1 of Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy. It's a pretty fine adaptation. I did need a refresher on the earlier parts of the series. It's nice to see how Youji's and Kanan's dynamic was early on. Youji's voice does feel a bit too deep for how goofy he is, but it really works for his bluntness. Like, the first name joke to me was enhanced by it. Kana's voice does a good job of sounding both stuck up and cute. The flustered shrill she does is really good! Both actors are doing a good job. I wonder how much this is going to adapt. 12 episodes is a good amount, but I don't think it'll reach when the Tekka shows up. Guess I'll keep watching it just in case she does. K Manga picked up Even the Student Council has its Holes for simulupub. This is pretty great comedy manga. The blend of raunchiness and gags is just the perfect amount. It's the kind of manga that would have been extremely popular in my friend group in highschool. Komaro is my favorite character of the bunch. The combination of tiredness + aloofness hits a sweet spot for me. Check it out! #Mangastr

Fun pilot. I really like the character designs. It has a good mix of horror and comedy. It feels good to know more of the worldview after seeing Betty and Seeka in the previous shorts. Was super surprised the studio went out of their way to get an English dub! #Animestr

Virgin Punk was a blast to watch. It felt like watching a 90s OVA in modern times. Especially with the leader of Archimedeath. A lolicon killing a girl and putting her mind in a replica of her 14-year-old self. That level of absurdity really makes this enjoyable! It's a shame though, since I liked Ubu's adult design better. Hopefully there isn't a long wait for the next part! #Animestr

It's a small footnote in something I'm working on, but I felt that it was cool enough to share. There's going to be a more detailed post after I finish. For a crypto VTuber, I tried to envision how zapping would translate to YouTube superchats. Zapping on Nostr tends to just be one color and would just blur in a chatting stream. So I came up with colors and tied them to specific stat amounts. Colors are just shades of orange. Obviously because of Bitcoin. Although I don't really get how peach and apricot count as shades of orange. I have next to no knowledge when it comes to color theory.

Strong first episode for Needy Girl Overdose. It does capture the more nihilistic mindset that is pretty refreshing to watch. The mixed media parts do add an interesting element to the anime; however, it does become noticeable when the subtitles say something different from the English on the screen. #Animestr
