TIL about Biosphere 2, an experiment in Arizona that took place from 1991 to 1993. A crew of eight people attempted to live inside a closed ecosystem. The cost of the project is equivalent to roughly $440 million in today's dollars, and it was privately funded. It's surprising they didn't try to turn it into a reality show. The crew's diet did not include red meat in any substantial or regular way. Additionally, they struggled to produce enough oxygen. Ultimately, the crew experienced hunger and infighting. #carnivore
