Every aspect of Bitcoin is a giant grift. Luke Dashjr makes 750k/year running a mining operation but asks for donations from retards he convinces he is saving from Core’s malice. This is perhaps slightly less or more tawdry than Core, who are helping their allies fleece venture capital funds building useless “enhancements” to Bitcoin which will never see widespread use. Luke is more predatory because he is fleecing well-meaning people with far less money, but perhaps better because he is fleecing retards who weren’t ever going to be critical for Bitcoin’s future. Core and their allies are fleecing people with more money but burnt through most of the investment capital and goodwill of people that were actually willing to commit serious capital towards advancing Bitcoin as a cause. I’d say between the two the scale of the crimes of the Core/LN crowd are much greater. For its “developers” Bitcoin is just a means for everyone to find an audience of gullible patrons to separate from their wealth.

The thing that is so extremely frustrating about so many people in this space is that they talk a lot of talk about cypherpunk ethos but they still have a bank account. They don’t actually use blockchains for money. They don’t on Nostr for posting, either. They still are on Twitter, and abandon these mediums as soon as they aren’t used for fanning their balls 24/7. I have not had a bank account for over a fucking decade now. I am not allowed to have a bank account. All financial institutions simultaneously decided they would not do business with me. I posted various shutdown letters at the time. Then they suspended me from literally every social media service right at the same time, so I wasn’t even allowed to complain about it. The people telling me that it’s okay to have custodial Lightning solutions, that I don’t need to worry about crypto being actual money, they will never need it. So they don’t actually care about it. They are rent seeking on the basis of selling out my future, because I am a living, breathing example of the urgent use cases of blockchains. When they casually seek profit off of Bitcoin’s future, and yell at people for harshing the vibe because we are saying your VC bonfire is wasting time and resources that we urgently need spent on real solutions, I really want you to know that you are robbing my children of their future. Because they’re going to inherit nothing but tainted coins. When you make centralized, custodial posting services, you are putting your hand over my mouth and smothering me. Because governments have already all decided that me, my thoughts, and my money are unacceptable in the world.
