There’s a documentary about Twitter coming out on CNN next month. No idea if it’ll be any good but I made the potentially questionable decision to be interviewed for it.

There’s a new documentary about the history of Twitter coming out next month on CNN. I they tell the story in a way that talks about how it was co-created with the community of users instead of some reality tv soap opera drama. #twitter #BreakingTheBird #cnn
New CNN Original Series Reveals Story of “Twitter: Breaking The Bird”
Twitter: Breaking the Bird will premiere on Sunday, March 9 at 10pm ET/PT. The series will air on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT.
Seems Google maps can’t decide the name.
This post kicked off a whole bunch of trolls posting homophobic and antisemitic replies… I don’t quite get it… are people trying to show social media is unhealthy in schools by posting writing toxic replies to the post? Or saying… what exactly… That people should engage in censorious practices by saying things which would most likely be censored… dunno… it’s confusing.

The best way to build great software for people is to talk to them and understand their core problems.

Watching the #SuperBowl in New Zealand means you don’t get the cool ads. I feel like I’m missing a lot of the show. Random kiwi ads for cars and Burger King. Meh.
The conflict in Eastern Congo is a human rights disaster that nobody’s paying attention to despite it going on for years.

New study shows that restricting kids access to social media in school has no impact on their mental health or wellbeing.
This doesn’t help kids. It’s just yet another moral panic.

Last month I sat down with @Robert Breedlove and talked about Nostr and the movement for freedom tech.
While Robert and I definitely have different takes on politics I found the discussion really engaging and he’s a great interviewer. Hopefully it’ll help #grownostr.
Exciting stuff!

Warp.dev is a pretty nifty terminal, but their paid plans are a joke. If you pay them $18 a month, they’ll let you do all of 1000 AI queries per month. What the hell…
Is there an open source alternative terminal that’s any good? Honestly mostly i like the AI integration, being able to manage the terminal with my mouse, having a nice copy and paste of the most recent command, plus the ability to send it to the AI to figure out the response.
I know Warp does 10,000 other things, but it’s not something i use.

Communities have been part of twitter for a longtime, but it never got put front and center the way it seems like they’re promoting it a lot more.

I love the scrappy evangelism. Talking to people as a community.

I love seeing folks trying something like news on Nostr. Interesting to see what @Violet News comes up with.

This deplatforming shit continues. A friend just got her paid flowcode site shutdown because she’s using it to help activists who arrested at black lives matter protests. Flowcode is kind of a linktree plus micro crm. They’re also being refused access to anyone who will process donations because although a legal defense fund for is entirely legal and constitutionally protected.
This is important, the right to speech and money shouldn’t be limited to those whose views are acceptable to the state or a few corporations that control retail fintech.
This is why I work on Nostr.
Anybody else feel like goose is really powerful and interesting but also it’s not at all clear how to use it? cc @jack

I know it’s silly, but my most common use of an LLM is avoiding remembering what’s in man pages. Being able to use human language to describe what i want my CLI tools to do just works so much better for me.
