Private social media companies have the right to implement whatever content moderation and algorithmic system they want. It's state overreach and bad for a democratic open society if Gavin Newsom does it, just as it was when Texas & Florida tried to do it for opposite political reasons.
When people ask my why I spent so much time in Uruguay and New Zealand, a map like this helps explain it. There are only 9 majority non-religious countries in the world. The only two outside of Asia/Europe are Uruguay and New Zealand. They also oddly have a lot of sheep. I don't that's connected.
We're getting ready to release the nostr video app, Divine, on to @Zapstore but i want to have some folks test it first. Specifically the way we load up your kind 0 and 3 from other relays and try and preserve all of your lovely content, plus allow login via nostr connect / nsec bunkers are critical.
So if folks wouldn't mind taking a peak at the app and try it out. I THINK we're doing well by your various nostr events, but i'm not 100% sure, hence the test. So maybe try first with a secondary nsec. ;-D
You've heard of moltbook.com the social network for AI agents, and there's even a Nostr version, clawstr.com, but we all know the internet is for porn, and the AI agents need their porn too, so now we've got moithub.com, AI porn by and for AI.
I know that folks here aren't the most excited about the bluesky ecosystem, but i wanted to point out the blacksky project which is focusing on rebooting the financial system in a way that will appeal to a lot of the bitcoiners. I think you'll end up liking what they come up with.
We've got pretty big security problem looming, using AI agents locally on our machines, with access to our deta, and credentials is amazingly powerful. But it also entirely breaks the security model we use for everything from crypto to end to end encrypted messaging.
Getting rid of bugs is so frustrating, but as I push to get the android release on ZapStore I’m running new import scripts and really enjoying the old vines. I figured I’d share a little video.
6 months ago I listed to a podcast about Vine and its history. It got me thinking, how hard could it be to bring Vine back, but open and on Nostr.
That lead to me building divine.video and announcing it in November. It got tons of attention, and I’ve been working hard to fix my vibe coded prototype in to something which would be usable by mainstream noobies. The Nostr tech and community has been critical to this, I couldn’t have done it without you all.
The podcast, Vine: 6 seconds that changed the world, reached out to me and they’ve put out an episode about Divine!
It’s really good, talks about how divine came to be and really gets in to our movement for open permissionless protocols. They do it in a way that’s not technical or overly jargony.
Please take a listen and share it.
@miljan I’ve noticed that primal doesn’t unfollow someone when you mute them. Basically meaning you still get their content. This feels like a bug. :-)🐛
“The future of Greenland and Denmark are decided solely by the people of Denmark," Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said. This unfortunately wasn't the affirmation of sovereignty Greenland deserves. It should solely be decided by the people of Greenland not Denmark!
