Me fui a la conferencia de la seguridad de red por parte de la Oficina de Comunicaciones Electrónicas de Islandia. Recibí ideas sobre las cosas que las compañías en Islandia están experimentando dentro del rubro hoy en día y también sobre la nueva directiva NIS2 de la UE con cuál se espera que necesitan cumplir. Una desconexión entre el liderazgo y el departamento TI dentro de las compañías fue un tema grande y la necesidad de una cooperación más profunda entre ellos para mejorar su seguridad de información. Creo que la gente TI se benefician mucho de conocimiento de administración de negocios. Les permite reconocer las responsabilidades y perspectiva del liderazgo para más efectivamente comunicar riesgos de seguridad y permite que el liderazgo tome la responsabilidad de ellos. He estado trabajando más en mi generador estático de sitios makesite en mano con la actualización de este sitio con cuál está generado. Una de las razones por cuál lo hice es que pensaba que sería un proyecto chulo para cimentar mi conocimiento de make, m4, y el shell. Esos comúnmente están usados en la creación de software C/C++ en proyectos en cuáles quisiera participar. El repo:

Leí capítulos 6-10 del libro Rust. Me gusta que el libro explica la seguridad de Rust en el contexto de lenguajes como C, ya que también nos puede enseñar aplicar prácticas de seguridad para codificar seguramente con esos lenguajes.

Fór á Netöryggisráðstefnu Fjarskiptastofu. Þar fékk ég að kynnast því sem að fyrirtæki á Íslandi standa frammi fyrir í þessum bransa nú til dags og einnig nýju NIS2 tilskipuninni frá ES sem vænst er til að þau munu þurfa að fara eftir. Sambandsleysi milli stjórnar og upplýsingatæknideildar fyrirtækja var mikið talað um og einnig nauðsyn dýpri samskipta milli þeirra til að bæta net- og upplýsingaöryggi. Ég held að upplýsingatæknifólk hafi hag af vitneskju um fyrirtækjarekstur í þessu samhengi. Það gerir því kleift að þekkja ábyrgð og sjónarhorn stjórnarinnar til að koma upplýsingum um öryggisáhættur til hennar á áhrifaríkann hátt til að hún geti tekið ábyrgð á þeim. Hef verið að vinna í "static site generator" að nafni makesite samhliða því að ég uppfæri þessa síðu sem búin er til með því tóli. Meðal annars finnst mér þetta fínt verkefni til að fá dýpri þekkingu á make, m4 og skelinni. Þau tól eru mjög oft notuð í C/C++ hugbúnaðarsmíðarkerfum verkefna sem ég vil taka þátt í. Repoið:

Las kafla 6-10 í Rust bókinni. Mér finnst fínt að hún greinir frá öryggiseiginleikum Rust í samhengi forritunarmála eins og C, þar sem hún getur þá líka frætt mann um góðar öryggisvenjur í forritun almennt sem hægt er að tileinka sér handvirkt.

I went to a network security conference of the Electronic Communications Office of Iceland. I got some insight into what companies in Iceland are dealing with in that area nowadays as well as the new NIS2 EU directive that they are expected to need to comply with. Disconnect between company leadership and their IT departments was a big topic and the need for deeper collaboration between them to improve the company's information security posture. I think IT people really benefit from knowledge of business administration in this regard. It lets them recognize the responsibilities and perspective of the leadership in order to effectively communicate security risks and lets the leadership take responsibility for them. I've been working more on my makesite static site generator alongside the updating of this site which is generated with it. Among the reasons of making it is that I thought it would be a nice project to cement my knowledge of make, m4 and the shell. Those are pretty commonly used in C/C++ build systems of projects I'd like to participate in. The repo:

I read chapters 6-10 of the Rust book. I like that the book explains Rust's safety features in the context of languages like C, so it also can teach us how to manually apply similar safety practices when coding in those languages.
