I continue to recommend the web app for all the text (and image and video) based networks if you have an iPhone / any modern android device. It’s a LOT less tracking and you can enable ad blockers on top of that if you want to. Finally, it will also make the whole process a lot more intentional.
> Apple can’t afford to screw this up. Apple has the power to introduce AI and machine learning to millions of people who might otherwise never engage with these technologies... It could turn a whole generation of users off from AI. Imagine your tech-averse aunt trying to use a half-baked AI assistant and concluding that all AI is useless. That’s the kind of public relations nightmare that could set back public acceptance of AI by years.
#android devs qq for you: why do video apps on Android not center the video in the letter box?
Repeat offenders: prime video and max and sometimes Disney+
YouTube is the only one that centers the video vertically and horizontally properly. Netflix has a phase but then seems to correct itself.
“It is possible to turn a cash inferno into a cash gusher, but I wonder if we’re looking at the exceptions that prove the rule that it’s hard to do so, instead of undercutting concerns that cash burn is a risk.”
I still don’t think enough people on the web appreciate the power of haptics even in web design especially as haptic motors on android phones have crossed the rubicon into being useful and the web on android allows you to design some delightful experiences.
An example: tapping “like” on a post
> “Blogging is an individual and, I would say, selfish act — you do it because it is what you want to do for you.”…Any other explanation of blogging “is just the traditional idea of media,” meant for an audience and for reach.
Since iOS 18, I am facing some "syncing with iCloud paused" issue with Messages. There doesn't seem to be any recent reddit threads that are discussing this. Checking to see if anyone else faced this issue and/or have tips to try? #apple #ios
