1st book of 2025 complete: The Beginning of Infinity by David Deutsch A great follow up to Deutsch’s previous book, The Fabric of Reality. Understanding the thesis of the former is necessary for understand the depth and breadth of the latter. Deutsch covers everything from parallel universes, to political structures, human incentives, technology and so much more. It is the closest thing to a book of everything I’ve ever read. But his main point is that science is the process of moving from one misconception of reality to a less flawed misconception. Once you understand that even after improvements, we’re still getting things wrong, you’ll be more open minded to be critical of strongly held beliefs which is the best way to test them.
