The Guulag closing its claws. In about a year from now, all apps running stock Android (including sideloaded like Zapstore) will have to come from verified developers. Becoming verified requires KYC.

I try my best to make this process as frictionless as possible, but i know there's still a lot of room for improvement. Great news! We now have @Blink Wallet signing their releases on Zapstore. Hoping that all wallets follow suit. Downloading APKs from the web on a trust me bro basis... not optimal for privacy and security.
