Could zaps have a commercial use in addition to just being fun? I think #[0] suggested something like companies zapping large amounts as a way of paying for advertisements.
I think at this point decentralized WeChat might be a better description of nostr than decentralized Twitter, given that WeChat also has payments. People could conceivably start using their nostr clients like wallets.
It's surprising hard to make your home feed better than global when the latter is limited to paid relays only. IMO that's an indication of a good signal to noise ratio once the obvious spam is eliminated.
Interesting point made by others that's worth reiterating: nostr is essentially "web3" but none of the web3 people seem to care about it, which begins to show what it is they actually care about
Has anyone considered running an ephemeral relay where notes are deleted after a certain period of time?
This might be useful for encrypted DMs where you don't want to worry about someone potentially reading your messages if your key happened to be leaked at a later date.
