Non-Dual Rigpa
The Dzogchen teachings state that rigpa is a non-dual state. That means there is no subject knowing an object. That is saying that there is no "perceiver" as a subject perceiving experiences as "perceptions" appearing to a perceiver.
There is no "knower" that experiences are occurring or happening "to". There is no "receiver" of sensory information in rigpa.
Many mistake rigpa for being a state where the mind is clear and empty while it is experiencing exterior perceptions and sensations without labelling or conceptualizing them. For many rigpa is the condition of being a "perceiver" of experiences without any resistance, grasping or self-identification. This is still a dualistic witnessing state, not rigpa. The intellect assumes this detached "observer" position and thinks it's rigpa: "Nothing bothers me or touches me because I am just this pure observing". Or it tries to hold this detached "pure observer" position against all odds: "standing as awareness". This is of course just a new version of samsara.
All of these views still leave the "perceiver" intact as a subjective self. In rigpa there is no
one having or perceiving experiences because there is no subject and object in separation.
As a crude example, imagine you are only a single eyeball. You can see objects in the distance. But if we remove the distance by reducing the distance to exactly zero distance from the center of the eyeball to the center point of the object, subject and object would be one piece. Knower and known would be occupying the exact same spot. Rigpa is this non-dual state.
There is no one perceiving incoming sensory perceptions in rigpa. There is no one observing thoughts in rigpa. There is no one that emotions are occurring to. There is no one that experiences physical pain. There is no one that suffering occurs to. There is no one who loves another. There is no one that experiences bliss. There is no one that a realization occurs to. Rigpa is non-dual. All of these delusions of dualistic separation disappear in rigpa.
Non-dual means the knower and the known occur as one undivided wholeness. The idea that a "knower" as rigpa exists as a pure, changeless perceiver of experiences is delusion. When experience is left "as-is", without a subject who is leaving it "as-is", there is no perceiver of the environment. There is only "environment" which is inclusive of the entire moment where the experience is not divided into a perceiver and perceived. It's as though you are everything with no "you" left over to notice, and no separate "everything" conceptualized and labeled to notice. There never was a separate "you" there to notice anything.
This is why the mind realizing "twofold emptiness"; emptiness of a self as a perceiver and emptiness of appearances as separate things to be perceived, is absolutely necessary for the non-dual state of rigpa to appear.

life is not something you do but something you are. Each moment it creates you. Life uses us as its instrument of creation.
Direct recognition of the nature of mind and phenomena is very simple. Thought, feeling and perceptions appear as the expression of unfabricated present awareness.
All aspects of mind arise as the self-expression of awareness, but they are not awareness itself. Otherwise, what we call the distinction between ordinary mind and pure awareness would become a distinction between pure awareness and pure awareness!

What if…..
What if our True Nature is itself appearing AS every personal and impersonal experience; always displaying only Itself in all its various modes as: consciousness, bodies, matter, objects, forces, energies, mind, thoughts, emotions, feelings, images, perceptions, identities, dreams and illusions?
There is no way to gradually get closer to or to become our True Nature, because every condition, state and experience is what our True Nature already is.
A gold necklace is already gold, and need not do anything further to become all gold.
Likewise, all experiences, bodies, matter, mental, emotional and perceptual experiences are already what our True Nature is.
When not realizing this, that too is our True Nature manifesting as a “mind not knowing this”.
However your state, condition or situation happens to be; that is exactly how your True Nature is appearing, including the illusory feeling of selfhood as being a personal “me”!
Geesh…. how much shorter could one’s path be? 😉

On No-self (Anatta) realisation.
I felt compelled to write about this today, seeing many are on the brink of no-self realisation, some feeling confused as I once was. I sincerely hope my scribbles will more or less help other practitioners on their path. To me, anatta insight is the most crucial insight on the path to fully penetrate. Without the insight of no-self, subsequent insights such as emptiness and dependent arising are difficult to penetrate experientially and will inadvertently be distorted. This writing ended up slightly long, but I wanted to write everything I know and everything that is helpful.
No-self insight is not a simple insight and might take one many years of contemplation to realise and after initial period of realisation, many years of practice to refine and stabilise the realisation.
Here I present the 2 important parts of this realisation.
—
The first part of no self realisation is when the notion of ‘SELF’, a central, cohesive, independent, immutable, inherent ‘ME’ is realise to be unfounded after cycles of searching. This is a realisation after careful analysis that there is no basis for this self that we held dear. There is no basis for that PERSON that we thought was looking through our eyes. There is also no basis for that sense of contraction held in the body, moving the body, walking in a place, walking through time, WHO IS THIS PERSON? WHAT IS THE BASIS OF THIS SENSE OF ME?
Practitioners need to go through sincere and careful searching, this sense of self that feels like a contraction, what is it based upon ? Where is the HQ of this sense of self?
In the head? In the pituitary? In the pineal gland? In the heart? The trunk? In the eyes?
Where?
This exercise need to be done in meditation sincerely and repeatedly. The mind needs to see the repeatedly searching and It has to learn that it has been holding onto a phantom, like a phantom limb. The Self we always taken for granted as a sense of ME, now we cannot find it!What is next? No-Me, then who is alive being? We cannot deny the aliveness!
If there is no basis for ‘ME’, how do I hear, how do I see, how do I know what I know, experience what I experience, feel what I feel?
2) Hence the second part of this realisation is ——> Who knows ?
This is the second part of no-self realisation that must be thoroughly penetrated to make sure we do not just hold a dry, intellectualised ‘no-self’ in our mouth, all the time saying “no I, no me, no mine, no self, no problem blah3”, but unable to have any experiential realisation because ‘the face before your parents meet’ or ‘Mu’ is not authenticated, we don’t actually know WHO KNOWS? We don’t know anything about our true nature yet. There is no anatta realisation without this important part.
To penetrate ‘Who see? Who hears? and Who feels? Investigate awareness carefully.
Ask, If there is no basis for ‘ME”, where is this awareness knowing the sound, seeing the sight, knowing the touch? Where is it?
Is it separated from the sound? If it is separated, when the sound is gone, is the awareness of sound still there? Search for it . If sound and awareness are not separated, is it together?
One will realise the awareness of sound only happens when sound is heard, and when the sound is gone, that awareness of sound is gone too. So both sound and the awareness of sound CANNOT be TWO separate things.
Is it one then?
One can use Bahiya sutra to help here, “in the seen only the seen, in the heard only the heard”, Buddha taught Bahiya compassionately.
One can take this phrase into meditation and sense into the sensations, how is it that ‘in the seen only the seen’?
Is the awareness located in the flowers seen?
Is the awareness located in the sound heard?
Can it be that the awareness is embedded already in the sound rather than in our head? (Yes)\
Can it be that the awareness and sound is not TWO, but ONE?
Can it be that the awareness and sound is not even ONE, but the sound knows itself naturally, never a split before?
Can it be that the sound is already self-aware?
Can it be that there was never a ‘self’ needed to hear the sound, as the awareness of the sound arise effortlessly when sound arise as sound has a nature of awareness in it? (Yes)
Can it be that the 6 senses are all self aware? (Yes)
Our world is made up only of 6 senses, does it mean our whole world is self aware? (Yes)
Does it mean when the whole world is self-aware, there is no separate self needed to be aware of all sensations? (Yes)
Once this is penetrated deeply, one’s perception will change drastically and one’s world will have a sense of heightened ‘brightness’ to their perception, like watching the most well defined HD television. It will be exciting, new and shocking at first, but the excitement will die down after awhile. However the brightness and sharpness of perception will stay. One will understand the dullness of perception is due to the filter of self. The more the sense of self melt away, the brighter one’s perception is, as though one lives in a crystal world, so sharp and bright.
* of note, Luminosity in buddhism does not mean ‘bright’ , it usually means ‘self-aware’ or ‘knowingness’.
Just to clarify, the few inquiries above took me a few months to penetrate, and that was my progression of insight gradually. It took me many cycles to refine no-self insight that those were the steps I took.
3) After the above 2 understandings of
1) There is no such “SELF” contraction in the body or the head and
2) All 6 senses are actually ‘self-aware’ and awareness does not stem from the head outwards….
One’s framework of reality will gradually change from an initial “self seeing and sensing the world” into “there is no separate self, the world seeing and aware of itself 360 degrees”…
The sense of a subject will be gone, the physical body will become an “object” just like the table in the room, then an equality in our perception will arise.
That is the no-self insight.
Nothing mystical, just very sensible and realistic.
After that, it will be plenty of practice to ‘melt’ away the core or sense of self in the body and sense of self will actually slowly diminish with sincere investigation and practice. Both shamatha and vipassana is needed. The most crucial part is the VIEW.
No-self or emptiness of personal self is a crucial insight, but it is only the FIRST step into buddhism insights to eventually reach such-ness.
Emptiness of inherent existence, dependent arising and interrelatedness can soon be penetrated and will not be too hard once no-self is realise properly, IMO.
Then non dual and insubstantial nature of mind eventually can be penetrated soon after.
But I won’t go into that today, it is too long already.
I wrote from my own practice and experience so it might not be standard textbooks statements.
May this helps sincere practitioners more or less.
Anam Thubten:
"In deep meditation we can reach a point where we can clearly recognize that our previous notions of reality are nothing more than a conglomeration of concepts, beliefs, thoughts, and memories. In that extraordinary realization, everything we believe to be true vanishes. We suddenly realize that we have been watching a movie, a movie of life, a movie of dreamlike reality."

Thinking about how greshams law relates to the 4 noble truths.
1. There is unsatisfactoriness. My money doesn't retain the value of the time and energy I expend for access to resources.
2. There is a cause.
The money is controlled by a group of people who get to issue it.
3. There is a solution. There is a money which no one can issue and no one can control.
4. There is a path. Teaching ourselves and others about the bright orange future. Spreading the meme of bitcoin.
It is for this reason that I believe over time good money drives out bad money. It's based on the natural inclination for self preservation.

True Ati
The actual teaching of original Dzogchen Ati Yoga got lost somewhere over time and in translation. It’s truly unique and brings total relaxation and the Natural Bliss of Being.
There are no practices, meditation exercises or studies or special states to be transmitted from a teacher to a student.
The actual and authentic teaching of Dzogchen is this: the Ultimate nature of reality is whatever is known or experienced just as it is.
It’s always the “Ultimate” appearing as every inner state and perception including all deluded, neurotic, psychotic and demented states.
There is obviously no code of ethics or set of moral guide lines because virtuous activities and demonic behaviors are equally manifestations of the Ultimate however they appear.
Regarding consciousness and the apparent presence of awareness: the Ultimate Awareness is always your current Awareness just as it is. It must be so, because there is only Ultimate Awareness, nothing less, diminished or defiled.
Manifestations, appearances whether as inner mental states and thoughts or external phenomena and events; are the Ultimate’s luminous radiancy appearing as atoms, matter, neurons, brains, mind, thoughts, egoic identities, suffering, joy, hate, love, bodies, and the interdependent universe itself.
And that which is aware of all the above appearances as however experienced, is the Ultimate’s Awareness; there is no “other” or individual and separate Awareness.
This is all that’s transmitted in actual Dzogchen teachings.
No “how” is necessary as what is sought is already the case, and is constantly being displayed as every thought, idea, intention, feeling, action.
It can’t be lost, because there is no second alternative to replace it.
What effort is needed when whatever your current state, condition or situation happens to be, is always already IT, even when not recognized as always being IT?
Interestingly, the Sufis see it the same! 🙏
The 4 noble truths can be summed up like this.
1. There is unsatisfactoriness (dhukka)
2. There is a cause to unsatisfactoriness (the I- thought)
3. The I- thought can be recognized for what it is and unsatisfactoriness dropped(a projection of unfabricated present awareness)
4. The path to this recognition lies in witnessing as unfabricated present awareness the projections of mind and senses. Or looking at the looking as the looking.

What is Sentient and what Knows?
In every sensory and mental experience, perception, feeling, dream, daydream, thought construct and egoic state; there appears the qualities or characteristics of any experience as what’s “known”, as well as the cognitive sentience which “knows” the experience and its characteristics as they occur.
If we say only the experiences as the various “knowns” exist and that the knowing quality is imaginary, we arrive at the view of the materialists.
If we say only the knowing quality of awareness is real and experiences are purely imaginary and unreal, we arrive at the position of the Idealists.
If we say both knower and known are equally real, we arrive at the paradox of not being able to understand where and how the immaterial “knower” and the material “known” converge; where convergence is necessary for any experience to occur.
What’s experienced here, is that the place of “convergence” is limited to the inner space of the Crown Chakra, which could be localized to coincide with the center-most point of the brain and skull; like a spherical domain of crystal clear transparency as aware cognizance.
All thoughts, dreams, perceptions, sensations and events appear and converge here and only here, in this inner space of unchanging Knowingness.
A multitude of various reflections can appear within a crystal glass ball, without altering or changing the crystal glass ball in any way.
The cognizant empty inner space of the crystal ball itself, is nirvana.
The contents as mere empty reflections, appearing within the unchanging crystal glass ball (Crown Chakra) when including a centralized thought-construct of self identity as the “me” or “I”, becomes for that imaginary self, samsara. Like a dreamed self and its dreamed world.
The empty cognitive space of the crown chakra (Knowing Awareness) doesn’t generate or project the contents appearing within like reflections.
The appearing contents arise due to “dependent origination” as the cause and effect interdependencies of the brain’s neurons, bio-computer (intellect), sensory organs, external sensory stimulations due to contact with photons, sound waves, matter, energy, gravity and all the networked and linked external phenomena of the universe.
I believe traditional Dzogchen errs on the side of “Idealism” as it considers that appearing phenomena arise FROM the empty inner Awareness as its own energetic expression (tsal, rolpa, thugje). This would be like a mirror generating the reflections that appear in it.
I further believe that traditional Mahamudra errs also on the side of “Idealism” because it believes the Awareness manifests its inner and outer world based on the totality of one’s own karmic propensities within the “Store-House consciousness” or Alayavijnana; like a movie projector projecting its own karmic vision or movie.
I also believe traditional Advaita Vedanta errs on the side of “Idealism” as it believes the external universe is a dream-like illusion projected by a mysterious power of Brahman called “maya”, and that you are this Brahman.
Kashmiri Shaivism considers that you are the creator Shiva and project your own universe as your own energetic Shakti; again erring on the side of extreme “Idealism”.
Here, it seems that of any Eastern traditions, only the Samkhya tradition seems to survive the modern discoveries of physics and neuroscience as it considers Awareness and energetic phenomena of mind and matter (prakriti) to be independent of each other.
From the perspective of prakriti as intellect (buddhi) Samkhya seems to be clearly dualistic, but from the perspective of Awareness (Purusha), Awareness is intrinsically free of all concepts, the very notion of dualism has no meaning.
Zen is different as it’s much more like the Buddhist school of Logic called Prasangika; as neither tradition make any affirmative assertions regarding the nature of Reality, subject/object or non-dualism. Prasangika even refutes the existence of any “entities” whether as individual selves or independently existing objects, including the alayavijnana, the collection of karmic seeds and propensities. Since there is no findable self, how could a non-existent self collect and store karma?
In the end, only a non-conceptualized Knowing Awareness remains which can’t possibly be captured by words or concepts or ideas. It is this same Knowing Awareness which is the innermost, cognitive nature of the Crown Chakra which hosts all the dependently arisen appearances as moments of non-dual “convergence”.
Closing one’s eyes while being aware of occurring sounds; notice the sounds as they occur. That which is noticing the sounds in direct experience IS the inner, empty Awareness being described.
How much closer could Awareness get to Itself?

Ice is to neuroanatomical consciousness what water is to primordial consciousness. Neuroanatomical consciousness arises from brain activity ...the ground of dualist thinking and framework through which illusion is perceive ... that which Pimps for Samsara teach.
Primordial consciousness is prior to the body, before the brain and the 6 senses ... it is non-dual and thus beyond One. Primordial consciousness is synonymous with Unborn Awareness ... and realized at the fourth of Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms.
“He who thinks of mind in terms of One or Many casts away the light and enters delusion” - Saraha.
Imagine placing some water into a twenty-cube freezer tray. All of the water is the same. However, when the tray becomes frozen there will be twenty individual, distinct, intricately latticed ice crystals, each one as different from the others as a snowflake or a fingerprint.
Neuroanatomical consciousness arises from this condensed crystallization through which religious and scientific empiricism conditions and sustains the delusion of sensory experience.
"Man's present civilization is erected upon the foundation of empirical knowledge obtained through his senses. In other words, the so-called "knowledge" upon which man relies is founded upon the evidence of his senses, or more simply, upon the nonexistent waves of motion of a nonexistent substance." Walter Russell.
"The probability that sentient beings can see reality as it is, is zero" - Donald Hoffman.
"The person who gathers knowledge through the six senses is categorized by the Buddha as a lunatic." Sabbe Putajjana Unmattaka.
The majority of humanity is unknowingly stuck in the Rhythm of Staccato ... Earth ... Carbon ... structuring ... Form ... the Particle of a Wave. The Second Rhythm is home to ego, and Mental Inertia.
"There's mental inertia ... which is a bunch of philosophy, and attitudes, and beliefs about yourself, about other people, about the world we live in, about groups of people...THIS ALL MUST GO!" - Gabrielle Roth
Gabrielle Roth's Terma treasure assesses Primordial consciousness for those who dare to enter the wilderness. Gabrielle spent her life making maps. She wrote, "...those who have dared to go into the wilderness, returning to tell stories and offer rough maps for those who might follow."
Today, most practice a mere technique from the suburbs and urban centers, not adventuring beyond the comfort zone necessary to enter the Chrysalis (the alchemical Rhythm of Chaos), Gateway to Unfeigned Surrender ... the Dance between Caterpillar and Butterfly ... the element of fire ... the metamorphic "Holy Mess" from which phoenices are born.
"In chaos we are rearranged,...chaos teaches us how to let go, how to move in the unknown, how to die and be reborn." Gabrielle Roth
Unfortunately, 5Rhythms® practitioners practice Chaos as it's the element of water. They don't have a clue what must be integrated.
Gabrielle Roth said, "Chaos is the rhythm in which we integrate our feminine and masculine energies."
However, using the elements in neuroanatomical: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Aether, one will not know the Five Rhythms, nor uncover the Dance of Stillness, because the correct progression is Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Aether ... that is, Yin, Yang, Integration, Self-realization, Transcendence.
Neuroanatomical consciousness is like an iceberg ... the portion above the water is about one-tenth of the volume of an iceberg ... and has no direct contact with the water upon which it floats.
The subconscious, on the other hand, is connected not only to the Neuroanatomical consciousness, but also has an interconnected relationship with the Sea around it ... which isn't the water of Primordial consciousness, because the Sea is salted ... thus the subconscious 'mind' is a vehicle that interacts with both the Neuroanatomical 'mind' and the Oneness of Space-Time ... such as appearing to know the future ... like if you see an aircraft land in your dreams it may signify the coming completion of a desire ... or sometimes an impending future will be seen more directly, without symbolism.
Although Primordial consciousness ... Unborn Awareness ... is water, like salt water ... and is an ice cube in a frozen state ... Primordial consciousness is beyond Space-Time. And as such ... Primordial consciousness is unattainable in the first 3 Rhythms.
"Lyrical is the rhythm of self-realization." Gabrielle Roth. Not through practicing a simulation ... but by correctly entering the fire of Chaos.

The Present Moment
All that is, abides right now
This will always be true
Unending and unchanging
Life is one unending here
This is its true unchanging nature
Yet perceptions and conceptions made in the now
each are subject to transformation, change and end
And still yet likewise they permanently abide
Since at all times they are in the now
What is perceived and (appears to be) changing is
Nothing more than a dream within a dream
When one sees beyond conditions
One sees what is truly real
The Buddha’s made the path to enlightenment
As a vehicle or a raft used to perceive the path
Yet even these perceptions must be abandoned
When one has successfully crossed the stream
This is all just one complete whole
We are all together always in this now
To perceive this point is to practice directly seeing the truth
The path, the practice, the attainments and perfections
Are not to be perceived or acquired
Succeeding in doing so
One has truly achieved them
Perceptions, conceptions, discriminations and volitions
Are styed as various, different and many,
yet these in truth are always one complete whole
Letting the mind settle on this one now
One sees the original truth of all things
And finds the root of the true nature of this one now
That which is the source of all things
That which is the source of all meanings
Perceiving the one complete whole
Is to practice directly perceiving enlightenment
That which is the original aim and goal
of all spiritual practice
Thank You
No amount of effort, practice or study will bring you to understand this. Because this is not something you can get. There's just the unveiling of what is already actual through direct experiencing.
I said something about knowing and not knowing both being known. If you know you are knowing the knowing. If you don't know, you are knowing not knowing.

A Path beyond “cause and effect”
Dzogchen: The Path of the Instantaneous Result
The earliest practitioner of Dzogchen in the Nyingma school, was named Garab Dorje.
He was supposed to have realized a teaching that was beyond the need for practices, study, methods and effortful means.
His approach was considered to be beyond “cause and effect” methods because no means was required to realize it.
It was said that he debated the best minds and realized beings throughout ancient India, and was able to defeat all in debate, while still being a young boy.
He was teaching a way to observe one’s own, already existing enlightened Buddha Mind which brought a conclusion to the “search” instantaneously for anyone at any level or capacity.
My main Dzogchen teacher, Namkhai Norbu, shared and transmitted this exact same approach with me in 1986.
He said: “Garab Dorje pointed out, that the awareness that is present during ANY kind of thought, perceptual or emotional experience and the awareness that is also present when no thought or no perceptual or emotional experiences are occurring; is the same unchanging awareness in both cases and in any case, as being the unchanging awareness known as “rigpa”, the perfect awareness of a Buddha.”
Whatever reflections appear or even if no reflections appear in a mirror, the mirror remains unchanged, unconditioned and untouched. The same with ourselves as being Awareness.
No cause was required to bring about this already, always existing Buddha Mind Awareness, called “rigpa” in Tibetan.
A famous Dzogchen master from the 14 century, called Longchenpa validated and further elucidated upon this same teaching:
“Awareness abides as the aspect which is aware under any and all circumstances, and so occurs naturally, without transition or change."
Also:
"But in actuality, the intrinsic awareness of Dzogchen is not produced or initiated by causes and conditions, for the potential of pure being and primal awareness is intrinsically present and manifests spontaneously."
Tulku Pema Rigtsal
"Until we realize that intrinsic awareness is already present, we must understand that striving to generate that awareness is a wrong path." Rigtsal, Tulku Pema
Longchenpa:
“Because Awareness (Rigpa) has no finite essence, and because suchness and deliberate activity are mutually exclusive, and because Awareness is already timelessly and spontaneously present, nothing need be done concerning levels of realization on which to train, spiritual paths to traverse, mandalas to visualize, empowerments to be bestowed, paths to cultivate in meditation, samaya to uphold, enlightened activities to accomplish, and so forth.”
“This is because there is no need to accomplish anew what is already timelessly and spontaneously accomplished. If there were such need, it would be inappropriate to use the conventional designation "spontaneously present and uncompounded." And it would follow that dharmakaya was subject to destruction, because it would be compounded, and this because it would be created by causes and conditions." (practices etc.) Longchenpa, Choying Dzod, A Treasure Trove of Scriptural Transmission, page 120, first paragraph. Padma Publications.
Page 190: first main paragraph:
Longchenpa writes: "Since all phenomena are timelessly free, nothing need be done to free them anew through realization."
Next paragraph: "
“Even the thought that freedom comes about through “direct introduction” is deluded. One strives to free this essence from whatever binds it, but nothing need be done to free it, for unobstructed Awareness, which has never existed as anything whatsoever, does not entail any duality of something to be realized and someone to realize it. There is equalness because nothing is improved by realization or worsened by it's absence, so there is no need for any adventitious realization. And because there never has existed anything to realize- for the ultimate nature of phenomena is beyond ordinary consciousness- to speak of realization on even the relative level is nothing but deluded. What can be shown at this point is the transcendence of view and meditation, in which nothing need be done regarding realization, nothing need be “directly introduced”, and no state of meditation need be cultivated. So there is the expression 'it is irrelevant whether or not one has realization'."
Longchenpa:
"Perfection in awakened mind” refers to the fact that all phenomena— all appearances and possibilities—regardless of how they manifest, whether perceived as pure or impure, are fundamentally subsumed within the scope of naturally occurring timeless awareness, arise within that scope, and abide within that scope. The situation is similar to the way in which a person’s state of sleep, and the various dream images that manifest therein, are subsumed with in the scope of that person’s awareness, arise within that scope, and are dependent on that scope. And so there is perfection in mind itself, awakened mind."
Longchenpa discusses whether some may need to do practices if they haven’t realized rigpa awareness:
"They may ask whether, even so, we still need to do these things (practices), because we have not yet reached that level?”
“This is our reply: Kye, unfortunate ones! Going from one place to another does not exist. Since there is no going, there is no reaching. What you are doing is ludicrous! It is like trying to go somewhere else than where you are in order to look for yourselves. According to our scriptures, people like you have only superficial understanding, and the way you live is a disgrace! "
Longchenpa wrote in his Choying Dzod:
"There is only awareness, pure in being free of adventitious distortions; there is no essence of buddhahood other than this Awareness itself; nothing to seek through causes or conditions, effort or achievement, because the term "buddhahood" is being used merely to describe pure awareness." P. 84
"So once you rest as awareness, to then make an effort or engage in view and meditation is beside the point and will lead to error and obscuration" P. 85
“Natural great perfection, the essence of utterly lucid basic space, is naturally occurring timeless awareness. Since it involves neither cause nor effect, neither something to develop nor an agent to develop it, nor any attendant conditions, it is timelessly present such that its nature is like that of space."
Longchenpa, “The Philosophical Systems” (p.305)
In The Heart-Essence of Vimalamitra, Longchenpa says,
"It is taught by the Lama Vimalamitra, that Buddha will never be attained on the paths of the nine graduated approaches by engaging in their view, meditation, and conduct. Why not? Because in the views of the nine approaches, there is only intellectual conjecture that is sometimes convincing and sometimes not, but which can never induce the naked essence."
Rigtsal, Tulku Pema (2013-02-19). The Great Secret of Mind: Special Instructions on the Nonduality of Dzogchen (p. 119). Snow Lion. Kindle Edition.
We probably should call Awareness “Presence” as it is always Present, never not present.
What is seeking Presence in this moment? When the mind looks inwardly towards Presence of Awareness, the seeker vanishes leaving only Primordial Presence, the Sought.
The mind initiates this “inward turn”, by contemplating:
What is aware and knowing?
Then when the mind next finds itself in a state of turbulence and seemingly being “out of touch” with primordial Awareness itself, simply contemplate:
What is “aware of” this current state being experienced?

Advice on How to Put the Meaning of the Natural Great Perfection into Practice
by Patrul Rinpoche
Homage to the guru!
To you, who reveal directly the nature of primordial liberation,
Which is the meaning of the inconceivable Great Perfection,
Omniscient father and son,[1] together with the heirs of your lineage,
And the guru, who is the glorious protector — at your feet I bow!
One's own present awareness, left as it is, in natural ease,
Beyond qualities and flaws to be added or removed, accepted or rejected,
Is the unaltered, unchanging wisdom of pure awareness;
And to rest in this experience is to unite view and meditation.
To know how to meditate but not how to liberate
Is akin to the concentration of the devas, it is said.
So it’s crucial that you have full confidence in liberation.
The concentration that calms and stills an active mind
Might temporarily suppress the mental afflictions,
But unless you know the secret key that is self-liberation,
Circumstances will still trigger old maladies of thought!
If you understand the point of naturally occurring self-liberation,
Thoughts of acceptance and rejection will be like writing on water:
They'll arise all of a sudden, then, failing to take hold, disappear.
When arising and liberation occur simultaneously,
Negative thoughts cannot remain: they arise but amass no karma.
With instant realization, who is there to be benefitted or harmed?
If you lack the crucial point of instantaneous liberation,
Undercurrent thoughts and afflictions will proliferate,
And although you might simply notice them through mindfulness,
Good and bad thoughts will still generate hopes and fears,
Accumulate karma, and becomes causes for saṃsāra.
Thus, far greater than a thousand experiences of mental stillness
Is but a single instant of naturally liberating pure awareness.
Primordial liberation, natural liberation, liberation upon arising, direct liberation and so on
Include all the keys to view, meditation and conduct,
So train in this crucial point of realizing self-liberation.
If you realize this point, there’s no need for other views or meditations.
All positive thoughts will continue to arise without attachment,
And even as you apply yourself to virtue, you’ll not feel superior or conceited.
All negative thoughts will vanish, just like the snake's own knots uncoiled;
The five poisons will arise, but they'll be liberated naturally in an instant.
And neutral thoughts will subside by themselves in the awareness-expanse,
Naturally arising and naturally freed, like the path of a bird in flight.
The source of saṃsāra is discursive thought.
If you’re confident in taking thoughts on the path through liberation,
Then, it is said, saṃsāra is freed within nirvāṇa’s sphere.
But if you lack this key to bringing adversity upon the path
Through full confidence in liberation,
Then even though you make empty, theoretical pronouncements,
Your own flaws and negative character will be plain to see,
Your stubborn five poisons worse than those of an ordinary person.
Why so? It is the fault of not understanding liberation.
Therefore, since the crux of view, meditation and conduct
Comes down to confidence in the modes of liberation,
It's vital that you apply your realization to circumstances.
Although I lack these points in my own mind,
By relying on the words of the omniscient guru,
Who was truly a buddha in person, I have written this without error.
Since it contains the crucial points of practice, keep it in your heart.

Anyone have thoughts on validity rollups for bitcoin? Sounds like a really good scaling option to me.
Share from a friend. The problem boils down to obsession with "me stories" and the mental health issues which are caused from this.
ANOTHER WEEK OF MASS VIOLENCE ... shootings, knifings, bombings, strangling's, and Mental Inertia (consciousness that has been smothered by beliefs). Ignorant politicians and their Media propagandists demanding We give up more of Our Civil Rights and Liberties to put fake bandages over the problem they created.
The ignorant say that guns kill people, knives stab people ... and We must give up Our guns, Our knives, and give into their Regressive Left agenda of Tyranny ... their Cancel Culture, Denial of Service Anarcho-authoritarianism, in lock-step with their narrative. What will the little Liberty and Free-Speech We still have look like living under such tyranny that the Founders were so fearful of, so much so that they included the words "Shall not be infringed" in the 2nd Amendment of Personal Rights .
The REAL CAUSE of violence in America is perpetuated by the therapeutic era self-expression, self-acceptance, everyone-gets-trophy which indoctrinate the masses to express their own ego, personal truths, and 'me stories' instead of transcending them or letting go of it (the purpose of Gabrielle Roth's 3rd Rhythm). The Woke believe that if I can really emote and express my self-constriction with sincerity, you're somehow spiritual.
"The spiritual experience, which ideally should be a stepping stone to less ego and greater transparency, has become a victim of our therapeutic culture, where we don't make judgments because that would hurt egoic self-esteem, and so all we do is embrace, console, and celebrate the personal self. Spiritual practice has become nothing more than a form of therapy where self-acceptance rather than ego-transcendence is the goal.
Self-Esteem is the ENEMY of Higher Human Potential ... Self-Esteem, the beliefs that one has about themselves, is the root cause of violence, not the instruments of that violence like guns, knives, bombs, etc.
"Less than one in a hundred people become fully self-actualized (Spiral Dynamics 7) because our society rewards motivation primarily based on esteem" Dr. Abraham Maslow.
"To dare to even speak about radical transformation, let alone call other people to a higher level, is against the unstated rules. And of course, one's definitely going to be put in one's place (cancelled) for doing something like that."
Dr Ramani Durvasula, an American clinical psychologist and professor at Cal State, said that in her whole life she has only met 5 people who were Self-Actualized. Imagine how many Self-Actualized people that someone not in the field of psychology who was seeking them have met.
Self-Actualization is the apex of Maslow's Pyramid of Needs, and Level 7 of Dr Clare Graves model now called Spiral Dynamics.
According to the Psychology of Evolutionary Human Development the grasping of reality begins at the level of full self-actualization.
Unfortunately ... Self-Esteem is a main feature of the Woke narrative. Today's therapeutic culture wants you obsessed with your Personal Truths ... not Self-Actualization. "Obsessed with your personal truth and afraid of surrendering to the bigger truth..." - Gabrielle Roth.
Gabrielle Roth said, "Lyrical is the rhythm of self-realization."
"It became clear to me that self-mastery is determining who we are not. Only then can we be who we are. " Gabrielle Roth
Today's therapeutic Woke culture wants you in Caterpillar stage ... the larval intelligence of the lower 6 Levels of Spiral Dynamics. They don't want you to about the Progression of Human Development ... from Yin, Yang, Integration, Self-realization, to Awakening from the Dream (what Dr Abraham Maslow called Transcendence).
The cause of today's violence comes from this Age of Therapeutic self-expression ... the crusade for Ego Enlightenment. In Spiral Dynamics, this is confined to the Lower 6 Levels.
"The person operating at the 6th level must realize that everything that human beings have ever believed in, is by and large, wrong." Dr Clare Graves.
Dr Clare Graves said, " the 6th level of thinking are an attack upon nature and Nature's Laws, that should be around for the shortest period of time of any of the lower ways of thinking that we have had"
