Yes - I agree. The 'Byzantine Generals Problem' provides a clear contextual wrapper.
- The Generals who want bitcoin to be decentralised money have very clear success criteria.
- The Generals who want bitcoin to be money and bunch of other [...undefined...] stuff do not have clear success criteria.
The latter group are therefore by default *Faulty Participants* since is epistemologyical clear that these generals do not and can not share concensus. They are the equivalent of the corrupt officers of the Dutch VOC (East India Company) fighting with each other over treasure. This of course led to the fall of the VOC.
Would like to hear @npub1s33s...252p reference this mathematical problem since it's relevant.
