Some news from Circle (reposted for record): Following the confirmation at the end of today that the wires initiated on Thursday to remove balances were not yet processed, $3.3 billion of the ~$40 billion of USDC reserves remain at SVB. Is Silvergate Bank failing an isolated incident limited to crypto stuff? Or is it just the first in a series of bank failures as part of the recession, similar to bank failures in 2008? VCs are being told to pull their money out of Silicon Valley Bank now too, expecting its imminent failure.

Not sure if NIP-05's are really a useful idea. You can create your own domain with a registered name that looks just like someone else's, and only way to tell it's an imposter is to carefully check domain for weird characters. Bitcoin blockchain recorded identity (known address with transactions or OP codes/ordinal) may still be better, since it can be used to sign npubs and messages, and is probably recorded to have existed for a long time.

Since Vitor got blasted by anon reports, and there are obviously bots creating new accounts to post the same spam on public over and over so you can't stop it with your spam reports (each post from a different account), what's the counter to having someone create a bot that creates new accounts and spams thousands of reports against someone? Is it just that reports only work if your friend reports someone, and random bots reporting someone is meaningless because they have no friends who would care about their reports?
