I disagree that it ever meant any worth at all. It was granted by a centralized entity so it was inherently gated. Nostr + Web of Trust is so much better solution! No gatekeeping, no nonsense.

I would be very interested how will a government push this through in the age of Linux, Bitcoin, nostr and GrapheneOS.
