On Bitcoin, Nostr, and the Resurrection of Ritual Value: In ancient Greece, people believed the world was alive. Not metaphorically—literally. Stones, rivers, metals, stars: all had spirit, all had soul. This worldview was called hylozoism—the belief that all matter lives. Their religion wasn’t about belief—it was about ritual. The central act was animal sacrifice. You burned a portion for the gods, and feasted on the rest with your community. It was an exchange: value offered for favor received. This trained the Greek mind in abstract trust. A bull slain = rain from Zeus. Bones burned = safety in war. Through shared rituals, they learned to coordinate, cohere, and believe in invisible contracts. Then came electrum—a luminous alloy of gold and silver mined from the sacred river Pactolus in Lydia. These “living metals” were struck into the world’s first coins. They carried the spirit of the earth, the gods—and soon, value itself. Coins spread across the Mediterranean not just as money, but as symbols of sacred trust. You didn’t need to know the other party. You just needed to agree on the meaning of the coin. This was a leap in human consciousness. Today, something similar is happening. We no longer sacrifice animals or mine electrum from rivers. We mine blocks. We broadcast notes. We zap sats. A zap is not a tip. It’s not a transaction. It’s a ritual gesture—a micro-sacrifice of energy offered in recognition of signal, beauty, truth. Every zap is an act of modern patronage. A vote of attention. A gift to the oracle, the poet, the builder, the memer. Not algorithmic clout, but sovereign signal—backed by energy. We are rebuilding sacred economies on new rails. Where the Lightning Network becomes the altar. The zap becomes the offering. The protocol becomes the priest. Bitcoin and Nostr are not just tools. They are liturgies of value. They teach us to coordinate, to signal, to believe—together—in something invisible, incorruptible, and alive. This is Deep Bitcoinization. Not just economic revolution. But spiritual recalibration. The return of trust, through code. The return of sacred exchange, through sats. In the ancient agora, people traded goods and ideas face to face. Today, we zap each other from every corner of the Earth. But the pattern is the same. We are learning to trust again. Not in kings, or gods, or platforms. But in each other.

Some thoughts on Zaps: They are gifts, not transactions. They are ritual gestures, micro-offerings. Zaps reintroduce an ancient form of Patronage in a new digital way... They are a spiritual and social bond. They follow Maussian logic: you give freely, but the gift creates moral and social gravity. You become recognized, you build reputation, and you bond with the network. Bitcoin in this context is not just code but symbolic capital. It's value is shared abstract belief, like gods, laws and social contracts. Every Zap is a ritual... a micro-sacrifice of energy... offered in recognition of signal, beauty and truth. This is the rebirth of patronage and a return to the sacred exchange. Bitcoin and nostr are not just networks- they are liturgies of value. Emergent rituals of a global spiritual awakening.

I need to spend more time on nostr in 2025. Here I am. I'm writing at least 3 bitcoin books right now heavy on history, Austrian economics, daoism and early America. I need to stay focused on these projects but I will start posting here and connecting with everyone... And as I get closer to publishing, I will hop on some pods to deliver long-winded autistic rants on these subjects. Stay tuned.

I manage a warehouse. Strict no loud music policy due to HR issue that happened. Today I heard Zeppelin blasting, had to go out and investigate... discovered it was the new autistic guy. Tool came on next. Policy just changed, thank God for autism 🤌🤌🤌
