Move aside Elon, MS Excel is the true superapp.

When you owe your fellow nostrich 10,000 sats and they owe you 5,000 sats, do you make one or two transactions? The answer might define Lighting’s future as a payment or settlement network.
I touched the Orb. I was not supposed to touch the Orb. My luck will soon turn.

America: “Wouldn’t it be nice to walk to the supermarket or bar in 15 minutes or less?”
Me walking in Europe for 15 minutes: People speak a different language now, dinner is served two hours later, I’ve passed 10 cornershops selling distinct kinds of cured meats, buildings have another style and pretty sure even the rats are a new sub species
I too get calls about “suspicious charges” on my non-existent bank cards. Once I spent five minutes trying to convince the “agent” to approve the charge, when they stuck to their script saying the charge is fraudulent. But yes sir, I did buy $500 in itunes gift cards please authorize the payment plsss
Tell all the Barcelona nostriches about this awesome event coming Thursday!

Spotted Genesis Coin’s Finney3 today for the first time in the wild, cool to see operators are still investing in ATM infrastructure. No #Lightning, though

Do you know which day of the week is dedicated to which celestial object?
Monday: Moon
Tuesday: Mars
Wednesday: Mercury
Thursday: Jupiter
Friday: Venus
Saturday: Saturn
Sunday: Sun
In Latin and Celtic languages this association is much more obvious than in Germanic, because the Germanic names are derived from the Norse gods associated with these celestial bodies.
As a merchant receiving #Lightning⚡payments to your own node, here's some basic advice:
- Set minimums. Fewer, larger channels are better.
- Don't close channels unless they are inactive.
- Keep your channels empty! Push payments out as they come in.
The channels that fill up first are your best ones, and you'll want to keep them empty to ensure your customers' payments don't fail.
You can push out to onchain using a swap service like Loop, or an exchange if you have to sell your sats. Ideally you can use your node to pay suppliers, employees and services!

A scammer rented a small kiosk in a Hong Kong mall, advertised buying Tether above market price, arranged an appointment with a 30 year old accountant, and when she came to deposit the Tether, the clerk apologized he had to go to the bath room and disappeared through the back door of the mall.

What a horror show of mixed and scrambled conventions.
Just one more channel, I swear! No really, I can stop anytime!
This sounds like a really cool event if you’re around Vancouver: Summer beer, wine and Oyster special at Artigiano in Edgemont Village

Serving dinner: “Do you have any food allergies or are you not from here?”
It’s really cool that in Lightning, if you don’t manage your node well as a merchant, I usually can do that for you, even without your knowledge. It’s not so cool that this comes at a cost for your customers.
Some truth bombs that might be difficult to swallow for north Americans:
- The only acceptable tooth paste flavors are salt and charcoal
- SUVs are just minivans
- Hiking and microdosing do not constitute “culture”
Is running your own Lightning node too much to ask even for an otherwise technical and Bitcoin-affin merchant? Managing liquidity and uptime can be hard, but how hard?
Why is there no such thing as dessert poutine? Just dump ice cream on the fries, a mix of caramel, chocolate and maple syrup, garnish it with whatever is legal and charge me $20 for it. *ducks*
