Black King Oyster harvest today. Some stats about this harvest: I spawned 1lb of colonized grain to 10 lb bags of sawdust/soy hull gourmet substrate (thanks @Foxfire Mushrooms for supplying!) on 02/19/2025. That means it took 37 days for these. Probably half of that time it was colonizing, half it was in the fruiting tent. After pulling the mushrooms off of the block the total weight was: 4.716kg I trimmed up these mushrooms to remove less desirable parts: Good looking mushrooms: 3.506kg Compost pieces: 1.21kg So about 75% yield there. Which could definitely be improved by me harvesting at a better time, and maintaining better environmental conditions. There is something in mushroom growing called "biological efficiency" (BE) which tells you how well you did. Each species of mushrooms has a range of acceptable values here. Biological Efficiency = (Fresh Mushroom Weight / Dry Substrate Weight) × 100% Biological Efficiency -> (3.506 kg / 5.443 kg) × 100% Biological Efficiency = 64.4% I did the calculations based on a couple of difference dry substrate weights, which gave me a BE of 48.3% to 77.3%. This is lower than the ideal (100-150%), but also my execution wasn't really ideal either. Its good to get this all written down so that next time around I have a goal to beat! https://learn.freshcap.com/growing/mushroom-yield-and-biological-efficiency/ #mushrooms #mushstr #grownostr #science #math

Litter robot geared DC motor. Had to buy a new one bc it kept “overcurrent” tripping in the device. Seems fine to me. #catstr #electronics #grownostr

#asknostr @npub1ex7m...vyt9 I have had two different people try to send me bolt11 invoices from Strike, which had expiry of 60 seconds instead of 3600 seconds. I cant find any setting to change it either? But on my account when I generate an invoice and decode it shows the typical 3600. Any ideas here? Actually to be exact, the two invoices my friend sent to me from strike had an expiry of 57 seconds. Weird?

My first code contribution merged into LND! Cleaning up help text and behavior of the `lncli listchaintxns` command. As much as I've sort of been a Python maxi, Golang is pretty cool. Definitely more rigorous. I like that it feels a bit more like writing C, but just a lot more ergonomic.

Last night was pretty historic. I have been working on a custom induction sterilizer design with my friend and we finally got all the parts in and it got it turned on. Not all pieces of the circuit worked from the get-go but the heating element (the important part) works! This pic shows the scalpel being heated and the oscillation of the circuit on the o-scope. This was a pretty advanced analog circuit. No digital here. Super excited about the progress! #electronics #grownostr image

Does anyone have tips for configuring Arti tor? Really want to use it, but it seems to work for a bit and then later won’t reconnect to the tor network.
